Jay-Z's "Black Album" has been mixed with the sounds of The Beatles to create the "art project/experiment" called "The Grey Album."

DJ and producer Danger Mouse has taken the full vocal content of "The Black Album" and recorded over new beats and production made using the Fab Four's legendary "White Album" from 1968.

The album "Grey Album" will be sold through hip-hop record stores and on-line in early March 2004.

If it kills a "classic album", it'll be the white album that's dead, but I think this is probably one of the most interesting concepts I've heard about when it comes to rap music in a loooooooong time.

im sorry man -- i actually think Jay is pretty decent. However, to be clumping together the black album and something as groundbreaking and monumental to music history as the Beatles in the same category is ridiculous.

I was excited about the concept, but now that I've heard 5 or 6 tracks I'm dissapointed that the Beatles aren't featured more on the mix.

It's basically just like... The Beatles chopped to an unrecognizable degree and Jay-Z over it.

Really though, I mean i know they picked the White Album because of its title....but that is the WORST cd to try to find rap beats on....that was probably the beatles most experimental cd...they had classical music on there, carnival music, country western music, everything EXCEPT anything resembling something one could rap on.
