It's not a hard song but he is talking about some real events(Dame Dash, Beyonce and his nephew) in this song, which makes it good...I like it..I like the beat, lyrics, chorus and concept..The song is real mature..it forces you to listen to what he is saying instead of just the beat, which is simple but still nice IMO...

Im sure most on here wont like it, but no surprise there..

here are the lyrics that somebody wrote up...

LYRICS TO SONG(or to best of my ability):

(Damon Dash)
I Heard motherfuckas say that they made HOV,
It made HOV say “okay so, make another HOV”,
People wasn’t playing they’re day role,
So we parted ways like Ben and J. Lo,
I should of been did it but I been in a daze tho,
I put friends over business at the end of the day tho,
But when friends…business enters as they go,
Ain’t nothin’ left to say tho,
I guess we forgot what we came fo’,
Shoulda stayed in school in Beveridge,
Too much flossin’, too much Sam Rothstein,
I ain’t a bitch but I gotta divorce ‘em,
HOV gotta get the shallow shit up off him,
And I ain’t even one to be famous,
People is brainless,
to uneccessarily go through these changes,
And I don’t even know how I came to this,
Except that fame is, the worst drug known to man,
It’s stronger than, heroin,
When you can look in the mirror like “there I am”,
And still not see, what you’ve become,
I’m know I’m guilty of it too, but not like them.
You lost one. one. one. one.

Lose one, let go to get one,
Get one, lose some to win some,
Story of a champion, sorry I’m a champion.
You lost one.

(Beyonce)
I don’t think it’s meant to be,
B, for she loves her work more than she does me,
And honestly, at twenty-three,
I’d would probably, love my work more than I did she,
So we, ain’t we,
It’s me, and her,
‘Cause what she prefers over me, is work,
And that’s where we differ,
So I have to give her free time, even if it hurts,
So breathe, mami it’s deserved,
You’ve been put on this Earth,
To be all you can be, like a reserve,
And me, my timing is Army, it’s served,
So I have allow she, her, time to serve,
The time’s now for her, in time she’ll mature,
And maybe we can be we, again like we were,
Finally, my time is too short to share,
And to ask her now it ain’t fair, so yeah,
She lost one. one. one. one.

Lose, let go to get one,
Get one, lose some to win some,
Story of a champion, sorry I’m a champion.
You lost one.

(Nephew)
My nephew died in a car I bought,
So I’m under the belief it’s partly my fault,
Close my eyes and squeeze, try to block that thought,
Place any burden on me but please not that Lord,
Time don’t go back, it goes forward,
Can’t run from the pain, go towards it,
Things can’t be explained what caused it,
Such a beautiful soul, so pure…shit!
Gonna see you again, I’m sure of it,
Til that time, little man, we nautious,
Your girlfriend’s pregnant, the Lord’s gift,
Almost lost my faith that was started,
It’s like having your life restarted,
Can’t wait for your child’s life, to be a part of it,
From now, child’s life waitin’ for a gift,
To return, when I lost you, I lost it.
One. one. one. one.

Lose one, let go to get one,
Get one, lose some to win some,
Story of a champion, sorry I’m a champion.
You lost one.

Lyrics are ok. I expected more of Jay-Z for his "comeback" album. As far as the beat, its bootsy! Dre fell of big time..

I'm also very disapointed in Jay- Z's first single as well.

The Black album was way harder then the material I'm hearing now from the so called "Greatest Rapper Alive".
