Break out the bandages, grab the gauze and prepare to be injured, because the Jackass crew is coming to a system near you. Having conquered MTV with their television show and theaters with their two movies, Johnny Knoxville, Chris Pontius, Steve-O and the rest of the gang are getting ready to take on the gaming world. Thanks to Red Mile Entertainment and Sidhe Interactive, fans will be able to experience the exhilaration and bone breaking pain of stunts with Jackass: The Game. Warning notices be damned!
Players will be able to take control of their favorite cast members as they participate in more than 30 insane stunts, pranks and indecent situations. For example, players can shoot Johnny with a paintball gun, race down steep San Francisco streets on shopping carts or traverse an hazardous obstacle course on a unicycle. While successfully completing a stunt is great, failing that stunt is even better. Thanks to the detailed injury system for the title, players can increase their points by breaking bones, rupturing spleens or doing other kinds of serious punishing injuries.
Don't think that you have to go at these stunts alone either; players will be able to join with friends to go head to head in multiplayer pranks and share these mishaps online. Players will also be able to construct your own Jackass episodes thanks to the included Director's Mode. By piecing together your stunts, successes and failures, you can see if you're just as good as Knoxville's crew.
The original cast has lent their voices to the project, and the action for Jackass: The Game was motion captured by the technical gurus at Weta Digital (the same ones behind King Kong and Lord of the Rings.) We'll have more on Jackass soon, but if you're interested in getting a sneak peek at the game, you're in luck. We've got the exclusive trailer here for you. Check it out -- but just make sure you have an ice pack ready: some of those accidents will definitely cause some swelling.
