Thats not good for him at all because he is signed and already established. Thats cool numbers for a unsigned/unknown artist. His album was good though i copped it.
this cd was released on smc which is an indie not a major

i think it's solid first week numbers being that a lot of people prolly dl'd his shit and it's hard to sell cds in the Bay people out here don't really buy rap cds as much as other areas

He is still a WELL established artist, however. He is the top 3 in the Bay i would suspect. That is what gambit was eluding to.

THATS A BIG ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR A INDEPENDENT ARTIST IN A RECESSION. THATS GETTIN 5-7 DOLLARS A RECORD. ADD DAT SHIT UP
Proof? Im not saying you are lying, but i dont just believe everyone that tells me stuff.

Im just sayin, 5800 these days is good i guess....i used to the era where Bay Artists sold 30,000 the first week and went gold in less than 6 months.

Besides E-40, Spice 1 and maybe the Luniz, who else was doing numbers like that?

He had a bigger budget, promotion, big name features, and distribution then most indy artist. so i dont consider him all indy and i dont think them numbers good for his status and who he is. anyways i dont care and it dont matter long as the siccness is happy and consider then great numbers have a good day

Those are definitely pretty good numbers considering the overall state of music sales. But with that said many of you up and coming rappers need to THROW IN THE TOWEL. No disrepect to any one but if one of the biggest artist can only move 6000 units what kind of numbers do the rest of expect to move. Not a path to REAL WEALTH. My mentor (a real estate investor) made over that (6000 x $6.00 = $42,000) in less than a month by purchasing a forclosure at an auction and reselling it at around a $50,000 profit. He retired at 49! What im saying is there are far more lucrative ways to make money, OTHER THAN RAPPING!

^ Jack makes that in a month by doing shows and verses. CD sales ain't really the way to make money in the industry anymore. Sales pretty much equals to respect in this day and age, not big money or good music. Now that doesn't mean rapping is for everybody! Go to school kids!!
