By Chris Mortensen
ESPN.com

The JaMarcus Russell era in Oakland likely will begin Dec. 2, sources told ESPN.

The Raiders have circled Dec. 2 vs. the Broncos as the likely starting debut for the 2007 No. 1 overall pick, team sources told ESPN.

Russell's "light came on" a couple of weeks ago, a source told ESPN.

Russell had a great week of practice, then weighed in at 259 on Friday after hovering in the 270s most of the season.

Unless Daunte Culpepper excels the next two weeks in starts against the Vikings and Chiefs, Russell likely will get all five starts in December.

Russell held out all of training camp in a contract dispute before agreeing to a six-year contract that carries

they want to start him at home as opposed to on the road....I still think they should've put him in some games earlier, he's gonna face some tough ass defense against the jags, colts, and green bay.....and only the colts are at home :ermm:

lol @ brady saying moss's attitude sets the bar for the rest of us.....fuck that guy....actually, fuck both of them

well not much really came out here in Denver about him.....Always hear from him he's ready, always get from coaches that he is inactive...sooooooo, I guess it's all who's story you believe. With our injuries and how bad that front 4 are I would have a hard time believing he was ready and NOT being used...so my guess is he was hurt still...but we'll see with indy shortly I guess.

Tony, you're an idiot. Seriously.

I asked him because he's a Broncos fan who goes to games and tracks the team, dumbass. You know, kind of like how you say you know all about the Raiders, despite the fact that they've had more wins in the past two years than you've had as a fan of the franchise.

I've been a Rice fan for a while, and wasn't quite sure what the deal was...
