I just spent the last two hours searching to see if my wife's info was up there. NADA! But I came across a whole lotta other peoples stuff. It's not illegal to look at it ...since AOL gave it away for free. Dumbasses. Anyway, there are a quite a few sites that turned those records into online searchable databases. If you are an AOL customer you REALLY need to go see if anything about yourself is out in the open.

if you want the whole file , it is 490 mb zipped, it unzipps to over 2 GIGABYTES , search the forum at the link above.

what do i click on? do i just type the name is "keyword"?
you gotta use search terms you think other people or yourself have used in the past 3 months. You will get the results for all of the people who searched for that term...for more details on the person click on their ID number for example
24677817

you will then see everything they searched for and what sites they been to and what day and time they went. Type Myspace in the "keyword" search bar!:)

WTF?
LMMFAO! Looks like someone searched for spongebob cheats.

Imagine the user ID replaced with someones name. That's exactly what that is....now click on the "User Id" and you will see everthing that person searched for and sites visited.

its not the full subscriber base, just around 64,000 members which is why you probably won't find yourself unless you're one of the unlucky 64,000.
It's 640,000 ...that increases the odds...just a little.

oops...slight difference! Still lower than the full userbase of 20-30 million...but still as bad. Is anyone else getting tired of these corporations aiding and abetting the identity theft rings by "accidently" releasing personal info, databases, etc?
yeah. it's really getting outta hand. there are alot of social security numbers in the data that was realeased by AOL. Some have names and addresses attached to em. I imagine those folks should be able to hit AOL up pretty good. Just think about the stuff we don't know about. These big corporations are being targeted daily by hackers who can slide by the most advance "secure" networks without being seen. I think if a company loses your data...by whatever means should be held responsible or be insured for these events. They could set up a system where the person being affected by the data loss/theft, could be hooked up with a new identity as well as a new social security number and bank account...with money in it ...all this depending on the severity of the mooching.
