In a Old issue of the Murder Dog , The Grind Family interview, the guy asked dem if Chicago give dem any fan support, They said Chicago doesnt even support their rappers. Is that shit true?? I mean i think the Chi got some of the tightest underground rappers and to hear that they aint supported my their own hometown is kinda sad to hear. How yall feel about this?

from what a friend from the chi says, there's some support but half the time you don't know where the fucking albums are or if they came out....they're so broke they don't have much money to promote an album so how can you buy their shit when you have no idea when it comes out, if it came out or where to get it and not many copies made...

well very true and there is a reason. here in chicago we po and weve been feed all other cities music since rap blu up. chicago is a major part in new york sales looks how rocafella has moved here lil by lil . now the roc has twista and kanye west tells you how we as chicago need others to help us out of here and how chi dont need to support there artist cause if they arent on the radio they aint in. chicago i luv you but we need to bringout better music that appeals to the masses if all the songs that come out of the chi and sound similar to and others from here people are gonna be like . ok heard that.and too dont go and try to to rap what jigga and nas is on they aint no purpose to sound like the other. well im doing my part hear in the chi we all latino's been getting luv from all over the states in the chi we creating our fan base but its a tuff crowd but thats good cause if you can rock a crowd here in the chi you can do it else where we are very picky and thats what i feed off. at least we dont got a bunch of fans that jus into our music as a fad. chicago is a hard city to please we got a lot of talent here we need to get off our asses and promote, do shows ,network, keep puttin out music alot think that one cd they did in 98 is gonna blow them up . i guess a lot of artist here would of done something if they belived in their selfs. im running my own label got 50 shows lined up this year we gott promotional material and friends and fanns helping us with our dreams . so it can be done it is jus that its not gonna come to me or anyone else tommrow with out any effort. and as for a record deal fuck one im gonna runn my shit in the chi not no other city .i got luv for all but i got control of my labels destiny. peace you got me all worked up !! hope you see it from a artist point of veiw.

Basically, most of the Chi-Town artists just drop E.P.'s. Now I don't know if it's bacause they don't have the money or what, but most of the Chi-Town music never gets heard outside of the city. I don't think that Chicago doesn't support their artists, they just never get to hear the new stuff that their people are puttin out. Only people with much exposure are Do Or Die, Twista, and Crucial Conflict. And that's slowly depleting too.
