The way I see it, if you listen to 94.9 or 106.1 you must HATE music, because all you're listening to as trite, mind-numbing teenie-pop. That being said, I think a large portion of the Bay HATES music. For me, after books and writing, music is my life.

Speaking of good music, any of you slimefrogs ever heard LEONARD COHEN? He's got the deepest, most bass-filled voice you'll ever hear, and he's the archetypical lover/poet. he makes the eeriest, most beautiful music I've heard, I swear. You might remember him from the Natural Born Killers soundtrack. He did the songs "THE FUTURE" and "WAITING FOR THE MIRACLE." He may just be my favorite musician ever. Leave your teenie-bubble-gum-hip-flop sensiblities behind, cause LEONARD COHEN is a master of the musical art.
Don't sleep.

^^ I can see Cohen being frightening to a child. He's pretty fucking intense. Have you tried listening to him since you've gotten older? I don't know, whenever I hear something by him, it makes me feel like I'm getting a glimpse into what a choir of angels must sound like. I think it was Kurt Cobain who said "Give me a Leonard Cohen after-world/So I can sigh eternally." Cohen's last album, TEN NEW SONGS, has a song entitled A THOUSAND KISSES DEEP. Everytime i hear it, it gives me chills.

He is, hands down, the best poet of I've ever read or heard. His work is absolutely amazing. His use of metaphor and imagery is unparalleled in modern times. I like getting high and listening to him and trying to figure out what the fuck he is talking about.
