Is there a quick way to fix headphones that are starting to "short"?

Should I open up the side that is shorting and solder it or what? Do all headphones fail eventually? Need some help y'all. Thanx.

yeah if its at the very end where the plug or earphone is and you know what you doin solder that shit.....if its in the middle of the wire somehwere i usually cut the length out and splice em bacc usin some blacc electric tape to seal it up....but yeah most headphones fucc up like this eventually....

dunno folks im not exactly a ghetto mcguyver....lol...ive always had my short in the middle of the wire were i jus cut n splice.....sorry couldnt be more help....
