i mean i use my share of slang...and i lack knowledge in certain areas but i feel like im pretty smart and people tell me that shit alot...but its like if im kickin with some folks and i bust out some "smart guy" terminology dudes look at me all funny..lol..like its not cool to be educated...i meet hella GROWN ASS men who seriously couldnt pass a 5th grade spelling test to save there life..its kinda sad but these same folks went to school and graduated..i guess u can blame that on the school system but im wondering did u try to not learn the simple shit?..i mean i was far from a "good student"..i never did my work..i was expelled multiple times and graduated from an alternative high school but i soaked up alot of the shit they were speakin on...cuz i think one of the truest quotes is "knowledge is power" wether its street game or business brains...the more u know the better u are..but im wonderin do folks think its cool to be a dumbass?


:keep in mind im not nockin people who try and just cant retain certain shit..but the people who would go out of there way not to learn some shit:

I concur to the fullest. Dudes that are dumbasses and uneducated don't think it's cool to be uneducated they just think they know everything already when in fact they don't know SHIT. When they give their opinions they usually talkin out they asses thinkin' they know. There's plenty of individuals who are intellect that haven't furthered their education past high school. I just hate dumbasses tho, mafuckas that don't think ahead or don't think at all and have opinions. Many uneducated dudes are just LAZY period.

I talked about this for a while but nobody ever seemed to understand me. People who feel like that tho...they usually make smart people feel lame so they can convince theirselves that being uneducated isnt bad. I never understood why people are always quick to clown smart people. Like in school, u would always get picked on if u was smart. I never understood it myself.

lol..I remember when I was a kid we used to make fun of the guy that did his homework and call him a "nerd" or something like that, but as I got older and looked back at it, thatz the dumbest thing ever...lol...how are u gonna make fun of someone for doing their school work or getting good grades?

Now that I am in college(graduating in May with ah Sociology degree to become a high school counselor or a social worker) I cant even imagine not doing my assignments...lol..we are all ignorant to some extent, because we dont know everything, but true ignorance is trying to voice an opinion on something you know nothing about... my goal is to be well rounded enough to be able to survive in any situation or conversation(whether its about the streets or school education)....

I have also learned in college, its ok to say "you know what, I have no idea"..and learn it then and there...

I feel what your saying. sometimes for a split second, I feel embarassed for saying something intelligent, and then I catch myself like WTF!? Its also important not to confuse educated with intelligence. I know people that dont have any schooling past high school who are really smart. On the flipside theres people with university degrees that are hella stupid.

agreed, there are many people in college that are idiots and are just attending because their parents said so...I got a football scholarship, so that was my ticket to get an almost free college diploma...it was also a way to not go to work immediately after high school and a reason to be poor...lol

I hope I wasnt trying to come off as a "I am smart because I am in college"....if I didnt need this piece of paper to become the counselor that I wanted to be I dont know if I would be in college.. Intelliegence is what you know not where you went to get it...many people educate themselves everyday....

lol....define stupid though..somebody might know more than you about a certain subject and think you're stupid...I dont like to call people stupid, because there are many things that I dont know, I guess Im stupid too to someone else who knows more than me....oh well though

Yea I mtown I also wonder about this subject a lot....I hang out wit some peeps that aren't that educated sometimes n they act like that 2....if I say sumthin smart they say some stupid shit...but I got them 2 get used 2 it in a way....you just gotta make it seem that bein smart is a good thing....like I know a dude n he usta gangbang n shit in school or whatever u'd call it...one of the most known kids in school....n he got str8t A's n people started following along.....so its all in the way u present your smartness I guess

agreed, as long as you are not trying to be dick about knowing something they dont...a couple of my boyz and I sometimes say tell each other random facts that we learned in class or something, if we find it interesting enough..then again we like to debate all the time too, some people hate it, but its all in fun...

I hate it when people say "you think you're always right" and I say to them, you obivously think you are right too, which is why your are debating with me in the first place, and they always end up like :x ...if I am wrong i will say Im wrong or if someone introduces new information to me or enlightens me with a better way of doing something than the previous way I was doing it then I am open to those kinds of suggestions...

Plenty of genius people in the past didn't talk that intelligently, you can't tell how intelligent someone is by the way they talk or the terminology they use when they speak. You can however tell by the way they spell, lol. Every second or third god damn word they write has an error.

I don't think it's a case of being "smart" or "dumb", cause everyone can be dumb sometimes. I think it's having a "strong" mind compared to a "weak" mind, cause I know a few people who have weak minds, and you can tell right away.

shit is not cool at all, but im not gonna blame anyone for being uneducated, but the ones that knock being educated i laugh at...i know and hang out with both type of people, college grads. and barely made it (or didnt make it) out of high school. to me, lifes more of a struggle without being educated, so no, i dont think its cool.
