I don't have a problem with it, but for you cats that live out there...

IF THE DAMN EAST COAST JUST GIVE SOME CREDIT TO WHERE SOME OF THE SLANG AND LINGO CAME FROM, THEN WE WOULD HAVE MORE MILLIONAIRES IN THE BAY NOW. NOT TRYING TO KNOCK OFF THE ENTIRE EAST COAST CUZ SOME ARE HONEST AND GIVE RESPECT TO THE BAY OGs WHO HELPED CHANGED THE LANGUAGE IN THE HIP HOP GAME. FOR EVERY PENNY A EAST COAST ARTISTS USED A BAY SLANG, THERE WOULD BE MORE MILLIONAIRES IN THE BAY, FOSHO. ITS ALL ABOUT SHARING THE SUCCESS WITH EVERYBODY IN THE HOOD CUZ THE HOOD HELPED MAKE THE RAPPER.

There's a lot of East Coast slang that makes it to the Bay Area. Guess what else? There's a whole genre of music that made it here. It's called RAP. You know, the kind of music all these rappers are making? Except they don't cry about it when other people do it.

Whats with this "dude"? Well for one, I'm not from, nor do I live where you live.
Thats partly why I am asking the FOLKS that live out there.
THERE IS NO CONFUSION, BUT SOAK UP THE FACT THAT I AM ASKING A QUESTION. thats simple.

actually yadadamen originated in the eastcoast. yameen(eastcoast) = yadadamen(the bay flipped it and used as their own). so not every slang came from the bay.
THANK YOU, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM ASKING >YOU< FOLKS ABOUT.

LISTEN TO THAT JT AUDIO, AND HOW MANY TIMES CUZZ SAYS "yadadamen", that will make some say "hmmmmmmmmmmmmm".

On one, if you cats going to reply, spit some real talk, leave that BS off my post.
It's a simple guestion from someone who doesn't live out there...

Brotha mayn, I am going to luv spittin disobeyish on a Texan on deese boards cuz a lot of us from da Siccness Region know our Hip Hop facts, research, and some of us are really nerds of Hip Hop. I don't know which East Coast artists has the freakin nerve to try to claim their East Coast slang in the Bay to fuel this post, but get your facts str8,mayn. Just because we don't live in NY or the East Coast doesn't mean we don't know our Hip Hop History because Hip Hop History is really African history in general, not East Coast History.

ok, i guess we will do some hip hop 101, right? for one thing..there is a lot of theories of where Hip Hop truly originated. If you take Hip hop college classes at Frisco, there are college professors of the Hip Hop Funk Game who will say Hip Hop is the future progression of Funk. Then if you speak to people in Jamaica, they some say Hip Hop is a the child of Reggae cuz of Kool Herc. They will also say that Hip Hop and Dancehall are cousins, yafeelme mayn. Then there is a few Hip Hop historians that will tell you Hip Hop is a extension of spoken word/poetry with roots within the spoken word community that included the Last Poets. Then if you attend Rap Battles or see people do Rap Ciphering Circles at parks or parties, you will see that its very much related to Jazz because it relies a lot of musical improvisation, of rhymes which a Rapper has to spit rhymes/flows/lyrics that is 100% spontaneous, not memorized/unrehearsed. African tribes practice ancient traditions of doing musical improv which they come up with beats and rhymes from nowhere(from the back of their heads) in the purpose in making a communal systematic rhythm over drum beatz. Jazz is as old as African History itself. How old is New York? Then if you speak to a lot of veteran Hip Hop reporters who go deep in the research, they will usually agree that Hip Hop has the deepest roots in the African tradition of rhyme games and word play over tribal rythmatic beatz, of Africa. In my opinion, I tend to agree that it originated in Africa and adapted itself to the local instruments and conditions when it left the motherland, mayn.

who gives a fuck. Slang spreads like a fuckin disease until someone takes credit for it by being the first person to commercialize it. Take for example LiL Jon and the word crunk. I listened to 3 6 Mafia years ago, and i firmly believe they were the originators of the term "CRUNK" or crunk music. LiL Jon used to produce booty hop tracks (SoSo Def Bass All-Stars) back in the days. I'm not knockin Jon but he did take over the air waves for a year when "Shake that Monkey" and "Damn" debuted. But back on topic, they'll always be gossip about where some words originated from. Majority of the people to this day think Snoop was the originator of the term "Fo Shizzle, wizzle, kizzle" or whatever rhymes with the fuckin word. Lately E-40 has been given credit. SOme people need to check their game. It's a cut throat world.

On some Real Talk slang circulates everywhere. And truth is we did'nt invent every slang word, and yes we do say other regions slang also. Well really we dont say they shit we'll put our own twist on it like ya mean=ya did i mean in the Bay. The thing about it is that most of the slang we made up gets bitten by others that capitalize off the shit and show no love. Then the mainstream thinks that individual made it up and it just further fuels the fire in the Bay when we get no credit for the shit (slang) we hold in a very high regard. Point blank there is tons of slang that the BAY and everywhere else invented and thats something that cant be disputed. Its just that we the kings of that slang shit and are known around the country for it so we take a lot of pride in it.

A few slangs The Bay invented

Real Talk (yes that ours)
Hyphy (we made that shit up, it aint even a word lol)
fashigady
pop ya colla
Do it movin
Thizz (e pills)
Fashizzle (yes snoop di bite)
Fasheezy
Grapes (purple weed)
yurple (purple again)
Heem (hennessy)
Go Dumb
Get Stupid
Stooey (stupid)
Ya did i mean
brizzle, breezy
ripper (hoe)
on my hype

just to name a few.

FACT: half the slang you hear comes from inside the prison system, and eventually makes it's way to the streets... why??? because motherfuckers got nothin' else better to do when they're locked-up than make shit up!!!

slang is also created in the streets, the rap game (worldwide), and last but not
least... the BAY AREA!!
