whats the story with celly leaving sic wid it ? its e 40 and celly cool ?
Celly told MURDER DOG in 2000:
"When I first came into the Rap game I started my own label. It was real small, maybe four stores in the whole Bay Area. That's when I first hooked up w/ E-40 and them. They had heard some of the stuff I was doin', they were about to put out the DOWN & DIRTY album, that's how we hooked up. So from the beginning, I been wantin' to run my own stuff. 40 knew that. It got to the point where it was time for me to branch off and do my thing and they let me go ahead and do that. It was in the makings since the beginning, me startin' my own company...we [Celly and everyone at Sic-Wid-It] was folks. I ain't got nothing to complain. They showed me the game, they showed me how to run my own company. I took that and went from there...I been thinkin' about it [starting his own company] the whole time, but I wanted to do it at the RIGHT time. I wanted to learn as much as I could before I got started." (p. 62, Vol. 7, #5, 2000).
So as far as I know, it's no beef or anything (not that I've heard, at least). Celly appeared on The Mossie's POINT SEEN, MONEY GONE CD from 2001 (on "Shoe Stangs & Thangs").
