Yup. I'd probably get KILLA KALI first, but HEAT would be my second choice if I was recommending Celly CDs to a novice--especially the OG (IF you can find it), because that has "Zigg Zaggz and Body Bagz", one of Celly's most underrated songs, IMHO (it has that wacky P-Funk sound combined w/ gangsta-ass lyrics you don't hear much anymore).

And hey: "Hot Sunny Day" is a classic summer track, "Retaliation" is just as sick as anything the early Geto Boys did (and that's great), "How 2 Catch A Bitch" is just plain hilarious, especially the Bob Marley parody in the middle ("Get Up, wash up/ get up, wash up," etc. LOL!), "Gin Wit No Juice" has got a funky ass beat w/ the honking saxaphone...shit brings back memories, that's for sure..."If it's funky, nigga, deal with it!"

PEACE!

whats the story with celly leaving sic wid it ? its e 40 and celly cool ?
Celly told MURDER DOG in 2000:

"When I first came into the Rap game I started my own label. It was real small, maybe four stores in the whole Bay Area. That's when I first hooked up w/ E-40 and them. They had heard some of the stuff I was doin', they were about to put out the DOWN & DIRTY album, that's how we hooked up. So from the beginning, I been wantin' to run my own stuff. 40 knew that. It got to the point where it was time for me to branch off and do my thing and they let me go ahead and do that. It was in the makings since the beginning, me startin' my own company...we [Celly and everyone at Sic-Wid-It] was folks. I ain't got nothing to complain. They showed me the game, they showed me how to run my own company. I took that and went from there...I been thinkin' about it [starting his own company] the whole time, but I wanted to do it at the RIGHT time. I wanted to learn as much as I could before I got started." (p. 62, Vol. 7, #5, 2000).

So as far as I know, it's no beef or anything (not that I've heard, at least). Celly appeared on The Mossie's POINT SEEN, MONEY GONE CD from 2001 (on "Shoe Stangs & Thangs").
