All I pretty much want to see is sequels and comic book movies.
The only two original movies that aren't based on anything else that I want to see are Dunkirk and Baby Driver. The Hitman's Bodyguard might be good, but I'm skeptical it actually will be.
Through the first 5 months of the year so far Get Out was the only original that was good. Everything else was sequels and comic books lol
Theres over 10000 movies being released in 2017.
Majority of them are original movies.
One would say we are in a time with the most original movies being produced and released ever.
Quality of original movie is subjective.
Release platform is another thing.
Yes, mainstream Hollywood is dumping all the money in the blockbusters, but that doesnt mean theres no original movies.
Fuck that, my favorite thing to do to get out of the house is hit the theater and watch movies. Probably go to 35-40 a year.
If you haven't checked out the new 80 foot screen at the Harkins in Goodyear that just opened up 6 months ago you're missing out, best way to watch all of these highly visual movies that are coming out.

I totally didnt expect a number that large.
But todays hollywood will either dump a quarter billion dollars into a blockbuster, or $5m into one of their fake indy films that still makes $100m.
Theres no in between today.
I still enjoy going to see big blockbuster special effect eye candy flicks.

I can definitely find 5 original movies, but again, everything is subjective and maybe its just a better trailer/synopsis than a movie.
And then what doesnt qualify as original?
Nothing on this list is a sequel, prequel, reboot, remake or reimagining.
Adaptations have to be allowed because every movie regardless of originality is adapted from something.
For ex: Diary of a Wimpy Kid wont be on this list because its a sequel, whereas Captain Underpants has never had a movie or tv show based on it previously.
It also wont be on this list though because Im not 5.
That was just an example.
Baywatch wont be on this list as well because it was a TV show although it looks like itll be hilarious on netflix.
Going to keep it to US theatrical releases.
Themes of other movies may be visible, but what are you gonna do?

I'm the opposite, most of the movies I've seen this year I've liked.
I liked Split, Lego Batman, John Wick 2, Get Out, Logan, Kong Skull Island, Ghost In The Shell, and Colossal.
The only movie I've seen that flat out sucked was Rings.
This week I'm gonna go see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Alien Covenant, hearing both are great. I also want to check out King Arthur soon, heard it was good and that Guy Ritchie definitely put his touch on it.
A Cure for Wellness, The Lost City of Z, Belko Experiment, and Fist Fight are others that have been out for a couple months that I need to see.

I enjoyed Logan and I'm not a big wolverine/marvel fan, but its somethingI would only watch once. I will d/l fist fight when I get time, it looks like some cheap laughs.
