i agree that the team would sink without lebron, but one thing this article points out that most people dont pay attention to is the defense. theres no number for defense except steals/forced turnovers but to me, the defense is what puts kobe ahead. but if lebron got mvp, i doubt neone would fight against that.
ITS AMAZING TO ME THE AMOUNT OF HATE KOBE RECIEVES FROM THE MEDIA....I MEAN THAT IS THE REASON HE DONT HAVE A MVP ALREADY.....I MEAN HE IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE...AND ONE OF THE BIGGEST KNOCKS ON HIM WAS THAT HE DIDNT MAKE ANY OF HIS TEAMMATES BETTER BUT I THINK THAT HAS CHANGED THIS SEASON.....
YEA I HATE THE FACT THAT SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT AWARDS...ARE JUDGED ON BY THE MEDIA....AND SO THAT THEY CAN USE THERE PERSONAL BEEFS AND BELIEFS AGAINST DUDES LIKE BONDS , KOBE , AND WHOEVER ELSE THEY DONT LIKE....I MEAN I DONT KNOW A SOLUTION , LIKE I DONT THINK FANS SHOULD VOTE ON IT...BUT I DONT THINK IT SHOULD BE ALL THE MEDIA....
Kobe is long overdue for the MVP. He should have been won it... Offensively he draws so much attention because of his ability to score and then on the defensive end he guards the opponents best player (not centers or power forwads).

i guarantee tho theres the people with connects making the outcomes the way they want. especially the higher ups who may or may not want certain people to win awards and get honored. but i mean, the way it is now- its just our world is becoming much more media concentrated (internet,tv,news) so people cant escape that effect of media on them. but theres soem hosts on shows like espn where they jsut obviously got a bias for/against certain guys
How can it be the worst comment you ever heard when there's only one player that has scored more points than Kobe in a single game? Just like you argue LeBron is the best player in the NBA, anyone could argue that Kobe is the greatest scorer in the NBA. He's already proven that by scoring 81 points and then scoring 62 against Dallas (after only 3 quarters).

Exaclty. As far as I am concernced the discussion of the best scorer in the NBA history is between Kobe and Jordan. Like Kos said, Wilt played in an entirely different NBA.
There are a lot of sports writers that would argue today that Kobe is the best scorer in history because of his superiority in scoring from anywhere on the court and his ability to put up ridiculous numbers in todays NBA when he was the only major threat on his team.
In 10 years when Kobe is 38 and thinking about retiring, we will probably be arguing who is the best scorer in NBA history Kobe or Lebron and Jordan will be 3rd by then.
I agree that Jordan is the greatest "player" ever but it's arguable for Kobe as well. It can go either way if you ask me... Kobe does the samething as Jordan does (even though Kobe has more range on his jump shot). They both hit clutch shots and both can score at will. Jordan had the quickness but Kobe is stronger. Both are deep and can be mentioned as the greatest player ever. You can disagree with that all you want... and LeBron won't belong in this discussion until he wins a ring and don't become so passive when his team needs him most.

Before you get all defensive ill let you know I just want to debate. He didnt let them sweep the cavs like you said, but he couldnt do anything about it.
And I dont think it speeks volumes to make it to the NBA finals when your coming from the east especcially last year. Sure it was a great acheivment but thats not saying much.
Kobe has been the best player in the league throughout the last three years and now that hes not shooting as much and hes winning because he finnally has some players this guy thinks he isnt most valuable to his team. I think thats bullshit.
It doesnt even matter though id rather be a CHAMP than a MVP. This year looks like Kobe can possibly be both.
