MAN DUDE IS TRIPPIN....FIRST OF ALL KOBE IS CONSIDERABLY BETTER THEN LEBRON ON THE DEFENSIVE END....AND LEBRON IS A LIABILITY ON THE LINE IN CRUNCH TIME...DUDE DISMISSES THESE POINTS LIKE THEY ARENT CRUCIAL....THE ONLY REASON KOBE ISNT LEADING THE LEAGUE IN SCORING IS CUZ HE IS MAKING A CONSICOUS EFFORT TO DEFER TO HIS TEAM MATES MORE , AND ISNT THAT FAR BEHIND LEBRON....IF HE WANTED TO HE COULD OBVIOUSLY BE LEADING.....I THINK ARGUING THAT KOBE ISNT THE BEST SCORER IN THE LEAGUE IS DUMB..... FURTHERMORE HE IS DOING ALL OF THIS IN THE WEST!!! LEBRON IS HAVING MORE ASSIST , AND THAT IS IMPORTANT BUT THAT ALSO COMES FROM HIM PLAYING WITH WACK ASS PG'S , BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IMO IS THAT KOBE IS THE MOST DANGEROUS SCORER IN THE LEAGUE , WILL GAURD YOUR BEST PLAYER AND SHUT HIM DOWN...WILL BE CLUTCH FROM THE FREE THROW LINE WHEN IT COUNTS....IS EQUALLY AS GOOD FROM THE PERIMETER AND HE IS TAKING IT TO THE RACK.... AND HE IS SHOWING THIS YEAR THAT HE CAN BE A TEAM PLAYER AS WELL......

Ofcourse this is your response!! This thread is for people that are not biased!! Anyway LeBron is about a 74% foul shooter or so, but he shoots a higher percentage at the line in the 4th and in clutch situations so u are trippin!! 2ndly what do mean he could lead the league in scorin but he defers to teammates? LeBron defers way more and passes more so u trippin on that one to!! Next LeBron shoots a higher percentage and averages more points, thats a strong argument for who the best scorer is right there!! And defensively yes Kobe has the edge, but LeBron's "D" is improving and it aint far off like yall think!! I wanted folks to come in here with unbiased opinions on the matter, not a bunch of laker fans acting like the shit aint close!! Thats funny to me!! Got Em!!

I've always hated the argument "he makes them when they matter". If you shot 85% from FT in the first 3 quarters you wouldn't have to worry about having to deal with the "clutch" situation.

Booooooooooo!

The trendsetter has struck again!! Beautiful!! Now back to the topic!! I hate when I have to break shit down in elementary terms. Kidd has been in the league what 100 years?? And he still has no jump shot so its a weakness cause it aint never improved. LeBron however has a jump shot that is improving every year and u can see it improve every year so its not a weakness!! A weakness is sumthin that aint to good and it wont get better!! LeBron has a jump shot but it can and will get better!! if u cant get that then sorry pal u on your own!! Got Em!!

Kobe's experience makes him better.

He thinks the game just a little better than Lebron (on both ends) right now.

Kinda like when Jordan came back. He couldn't overpower people with his athleticism anymore but he out thought everybody.

Back when Jordan was with the Wizards, Telemundo used to broadcast NBA games on Saturdays. I caught a game (Wizards at Raptors) where Jordan baited the sideline inbounder into trying to throw the ball off of his back for a quick inbound. MJ turned around and stole that shit just as dude tried to bounce it off of him. Classic

LOL @ ELEMTARY TERMS. YOU DIDNT START THAT HOMIE, WE WERE SAYING THAT UP HERE YEARS AGO, AND I DONT KNOW WHO STARTED IT, I WAS BEING SARCASTIC. LEBRON DOES HAVE A WEAKNESS, HIS FREETHROW SHOOTING, @ 72%, I WOULD SAY THATS A CAUSE FOR CONCERN FAM. KIDD HAD A JUMP SHOT, ITS GONE DOWN HILL IN THE PAST FEW SEASONS.

if KOBE was on ANY other team than the Lakers, he'd be one of my favorite players....ahh well fuck it, he's a fuckin killer !!! BOTH guys are vital to their team of course, and the article brings up interesting points. But the goal for everyone is to WIN, and i'm sure both of them would give up the MVP to the other person if that meant winning a championship. So to say Kobe is less deserving because they got Gasol, i guess so be it lol......Cleveland did their trading too......There can be only one winner, so someone's gonna be left out !!

U BE TRYING TO MAKE HIM SOUND LIKE GOD. EVEN WHEN OUR TEAM TRADED, JUST CUZ LEBRON, U WANTED THE OTHER TEAM TO DO BETTER. WUT IS THAT? ONLY TEAM I WANT BETTER OUT OF A TRADE IS MY OWN. I LIKE LEBRON BUT NO, KOBE HAS HIM

LOL @ criticizing people for listening to analysts, but posting up "articles" by bloggers.

Sounds like more contradiction to me.

Lebron James is actually a 71 % FT shooter...Kobe is an 84% shooter.

And I do think that leading the Lakers to the TOP of the West is impressive, considering where they were last year. The Cavs were in the finals last year, due in large part to James, true, but where are they now? Only about 8 games behind the Lakers in a weaker conference, Kobe being the main reason.

This could go on for days and days, but I just think that leading Kobe by less than 2 ppg isn't this huge accomplishment...LOL. I think Kobe has made an effort to shape his game, to become more of an all-around player, but that's just what I get from watching him. I've watched him since his rookie year, and I do see a difference in him.

Kobe could average 40 ppg if he wanted to, really; who's going to stop him night in and night out? LOL...and he could lock down your best player. That's where I give him the edge; he's tremendous on both ends.

I think Lebron James is a great player, at such a young age; he's the player that teams build franchises around. But he's no Kobe.

Oh yeah, @ CZAR: this is pretty unbiased, homie...I'm not real happy with Kobe for not coming to the Bulls. LOL

Oh yeah...btw, I just remembered seeing something about it earlier in this thread...

...but Lebron plays MORE minutes per game than Kobe, actually:

Lebron = 40.6 mpg
Kobe = 38.4 mpg

And per 48 minutes, Lebron averages 35.8, while Kobe averages 35.3.

Good job, Lebron; just not as 'big' of a difference as it had seemed earlier. LOL

Come on tony u know u coo peeps but man u sayin some silly shit here!! What u mean let?? In the NBA u dont let teams do nuthin! The Spurs are far more superior team and the fact that LeBron got that team to the finals says volumes!! Dude is like 23 years old and look where he's at!! As far as MVP's go its a 2 man race and its close between Kobe & LeBron!! Got Em!!
Naaa I am not saying anything silly. This was LeBron's chance to show the world how deep he really is. In 1991 Lakers were a superior team but Jordan's Bulls didn't let that factor in when they met in the NBA Finals. The Lakers won the first game and then the Bulls took the next 4 in a row. I am saying that LeBron let folks down by letting his Cavs get swept. He didn't let them lose against the Pistons pouring in over 50 points in that last game soaring through the air dunking on fools. Then he gets to the finals and then becomes scared and passive. That had to be the most boring finals I've ever seen. He's shown he has the ability to take over games, why not do it on the biggest stage? And they beat San Antonio twice during the regular season.... Choke artist!! Now he's asking for help? Are you serious? There's no way Kobe's team would get swept if his squad ever made it to the NBA Finals.

And I think it's a two man race between Kobe and Paul...with Kobe getting the nod barely.

2. the article says that Kobe is a better shooter, especially long range, hits more free throws, and plays better defense but lebron (a 6'8" forward @ 245 pounds) blocks more shots and can rebound better, so he is a better player.

horrible article...not just because i'm a kobe fan

Yeah I chucked at that too. Kobe and Lebron play different positions so comparing stats that are relative to a positiion is biased. I mean would you fault Kobe for getting less rebounds/blocks then Tim Duncan?

Kobe is the best scorer in NBA history and he plays better defense then King James, at this point there is no question Kobe is better than Lebron and should be MVP over Lebron. MVP takes into consideration the players personal numbers AND his team's success. The worst team in the league is never gonna have the MVP, so yes teams wins are an important part to being an MVP.

Kobe is going to win the MVP... with Chris Paul coming in second and LeBron coming in third.

LeBron is deep no doubt but a team with Kobe Bryant on it would have never gotten swept in the NBA Finals. LeBron let me down when he let his Cavs get swept. Fool got scared and too passive.

Kobe would have turned into a ballhog before he let his team get swept. LeBron is a choke artist and Kobe is winner.... so stop the comparisons.
