You're probably right, I'm not really up on that LA gang shit I'm just assuming alot of those rivalries out there and pretty much anywhere between certain sets start out of the same shit that I mentioned with the northerners and the pisa mexicans out in places like the Central Valley.

When I was young and you came across a fool, it was always going to be something. If there wasn't something, word would get around and you would at minimum get checked. The same people years later have matured. It's not a check but more realistic responses like "homie, if I started funk with every fool I see I would be constantly at war".

Basically, if you ain't getting hit up or mean mugged, what's the point of starting shit? Most of the time these fools is new and from some little new hood I ain't even heard of. There was a point I knew who every one and every thing is. Now I don't know what half the shit I see tagged up is.

I was taught to "come off the shoulders" and "take flight on sight" whenever we seen fools from the other side....

I was like that before because I felt like I had nothing to live for, once I became a father I started to see things more clearly. I kept a few homeboys around after my move, but some of them fools were snakes!

Some homeboys respected my decision and some didn't, specially the ones that didn't have nothing to live for. It's sad..some of those are in prison now and some 6ft deep.....that's no way of living, living it's enjoying everyday with your family and real friends.....

Using drugs, skipping school, selling dope,stealing, robbing, car jacking, shooting, stabbing, tattoos with easy to identify marks that will have the police on yo ass, snitching, separation from yo real loved ones, fakeness, destruction of property, broken neighborhoods, lower the property value, crackhouses, undercover gay shit, drinking, filthiness, mentally trapped by a color, jail, prison, not able to get a job, probation, prison, hospital, paralysis, death, begging, living wit yo mama too long, living from house to house, homelessness, dirty, bad speech, being a hater, fake friends when really in life you can count on one hand how many real friends you have...shall I continue?

My cousin got killed 02/18/1995 by one of his so called friends who was in his gang over a FEMALE!!! Is that justice? He was repping the FOLK NATION true blue. Did he rep his gang proud and die a warrior? Nope. He died an 18 year old young man who never got to meet his daughter, never got to say goodbye to his real family, and never got to grow as a man. I miss him so much to this day that the pain still runs deep. He was a brother to me and a piece of me died with him and I was only 15. Gangbanging is stupid but the crazy thing is half of the rappers I listen to are gang affiliated and mostly crips and I don't know if I would have had the pleasure to listen to SNOOP, QUIK, C BO, TAY CAPONE, DPG, WC, MAC 10, Z RO, TRAY DEE, X RAIDED,etc...if it wasn't for their gang affiliations!

My advice is to be a good parent/uncle/aunt/brother/sister/mentor to the youth and spread the seed of knowledge instead of promoting bullshit street shit.
