Intellectual Superiority....can it be judged online?

This is verily a true statement. Most of us here know it to be the truth. But how might this be explained to those unfamiliar with both Tadou the Genius and Stealth the Dolt?

This man cannot match up in any of the categories one might utilize to make such a judgement call.

My vocabulary is superior. This is not even an argument. It is not only superior, but it shows no signs whatsoever of simply being the result of quick copy/pasting from a thesaurus, or some other manner of cheating. When you read these words I type, you know that they are coming from me as I am thinking them and they are coming to mind.

My composition is also superior. This man Stealth (among countless others) cannot match up. I break things down in the pieces they need to be broken up into, and make excellent use of commas, colons and semi-colons. My flow is awesome--not simply some big jumbled mess of sentence, period, sentence, period, sentence comma sentence comma sentence, period.....but rather something that has an actual LOOK and FEEL to it. Something you could pick up and SPEAK FROM A PODIUM without needing to make too many adjustments.

My adverb usage is also no competition. Adverbs are one of the last subjects drilled into you in English class, and people really only start to get good at their proper usage around 12th grade, and continuing on into college. I am not going to sit here and say that FOR THE FACT OF MY BEING IN COLLEGE, I am somehow automatically better.....but.....hey, the ball don't lie. I am verily the one that is better at using adverbs, and this much is not really open to argument.

I am also superior to this man Stealth when it comes to catch-phrases. I am the one that has and says the phrases like, "If you said it then it must be true", and "Something along those lines", and "This much is not open to argument". This man Stealth?..... "Faggot"...."The board thinks you're a faggot"......this man has nothing. He sits behind a keyboard and presses keys with no style whatsoever.

I am the one that makes the better contributions to the topics at hand. I do the research--I do not just look for people to pick on, and then hope that my charm and favorability will win me the argument (see "The whole board hates you" type of insults), rather than my argument winning me the argument.



There are many more categories, but that is the basic break-down.

Out of those 5, there are not many on this board who can compare, Stealth being the LEAST likely to be able to do so.

no. your reasoning is flawed.. your not taking into account the persons laziness to spell out entire words.. doesnt mean intellectual inferiority, only more of a sense of not caring how anyone portrays their image through their grammar.. then all your left with for comparison is your self entitled "wittyness" which can also be seen as being a jackass..

articulation and spelling doesnt signify intelligence in somebody..

however, i do believe one person can let their insecurities get the best of them on here.. for instance, why would this thread be relevent to the GOM forum if it werent just a blatant way make yourself feel better by actually saying so.. those who are comfortable with themself albiet, physically, intellectually or otherwise, dont have to re-assure themself in a forum where nobody gives a fuck about them.. feel me? u wouldnt post this if u weren't worried people thought u were stupid..

I think that's the heart of how I feel. I honestly feel no need to prove myself intellectually superior to these people. For the most part I really like them and I'd like to read what they wrote. They say the wisest person is not the one showing off his wisdom, because he learns nothing new from that. The wisest person is the one who listens and asks questions. I read your responses and grow for them.

I dont believe that internet superiority is the mark of an intelligent man, and so I don't try to show off or prove myself when kicking it. A lot of times my contributions are funny and thoughtless and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. If you want to prove yourself, use real life examples:

High school GPA, College GPA, IQ, SAT, LSAT, etc. I guarantee you my scores would blow you out of the water, and furthermore, if I told you something like, say, my IQ score you would not believe me. I have had people tell me I was one of the smartest people that they ever met, but it bothers me to hear that because that's how competition starts, and I'd rather not think of myself as intellectually superior to anyone.

What have you done with your life? I honestly would like to know. I've done a great deal with mine and I'm happy with my spot and that's that.

I asked you to post this up as a joke, because I knew that only someone who really needed to prove himself would go out of his way to make a thread to compare his intellegence to someone else. I've never felt it necessary and never will. For the most part, I work 8 hours a day, and it really is a fun thing to do when I try to piss you off in this little pissing contest.

I get in fights with people on the board when they act like my intellectual superior. Then you see people like mustynuts and deep thought who give very insightful, off the wall answers, that often times in no way help further the conversation, but nonetheless show off a true sense of creativity and intelligence. To me, that's much more respectable than someone who can quote something and say that's their contribution, or someone who can spell antidisestablishmentarianism forward and backwards like some autistic genius.

Your vocabulary is not superior. You are a showoff. I am not saying my vocabulary is superior (although if I were a betting man, I'd pick me). All I'm saying is you have no basis to make this comment, and it is your delusional comments that make you hard to take seriously. You throw it out there like fact, but then challenge any real fact that someone would present to you.

Your composition is also not superior. Perhaps you'd like to read my senior thesis on the effects of heroin on the nigrostriatal cortext. Or you'd like to see my research project on how risk seeking effects successful cessation in heroin and cocaine addicts with some type of personality disorder. Or maybe you'd like to see the presentation that I gave to a community college on the effects of drugs on the fetal development of the nervous system. Or the public speaking class I took where the teacher gave me an A+, I received standing ovations, and a letter from the teacher saying "this is the most impressive speech I have ever witnessed in my life. And while I do not say this often, I would just like to let you know, that you have earned in every sense of the word my respect as my student and colleague". Or perhaps my personal reflection letters that helped me get accepted to the University of Pittsburgh, Villanova, Temple, and Santa Clara schools of law, some of which offered me a full-ride scholarship. Not that I'd ever rub in my credentials just to get the upper hand...but if the point is to prove our composition skills, I'd much rather use a real life example instead of your opinion.

Your adverb use is better? So you are really good at using words that commonly end in "ly" and help to describe the verb. If that makes you intellectually superior to me, then by all means friend, accept my heartfelt apology.

The catch-phrase thing, once again, is a mater of effort. Me putting forth none, and you obviously going out of your way to not only create effective catch phrases, but then compare them to mine. I called you a faggot. I like to say fuck. I swear. I smoke weed. But when I am in a place that neccessitates me to speak on a level expected of an educated person, please understand that I can make the transition quite nicely.

Perhaps you do make better contributions to the board...saying things like I am an intellectual superior...I am the messiah...I am Gandolf the Grey and I will smote your ruin across the mountainside <--- you didn't say that but I hope you get the point. I don't contribute to your threads because I'd rather call out the fact that you act in such a way. Because I am an instigator? No...because I am a moderator. While I moderate the flows forum, this Siccness thing is still very dear to me. I've been on it for about 7 or 8 years now and I've watched it grow into what it is today. So, when I meet people who I feel will detract cool cats from taking part in conversation because the board is too full of shit talking threads, I feel the need to comment on it. I guess you could just say thats the "moderator in me".

But most of all, I dont allow other people on the internet to affect my emotions or piss me off in such a way that I would feel compelled to post up a thread comparing my intellectual superiority with someone else. Please believe I was joking when I asked you to make this thread, but please believe that as long as this thread doesn't spill over onto other threads and ruin the board, I would love to engage in a conversation with you about whether or not intelligence can truly be defined over the internet.

I have many theories on intelligence, which you are unaware of. You are unaware of them because I have not made such a contribution on this board. The reason for this is because I would rather listen to what these people have to say then tell them what I have to say. Why? Because, when you listen to people like 2-0-Sixx shout out anti-government propaganda, and then you listen to a brainwashed little fuck like you say something completely different, and then have someone like Troll pop in with an unbiased and completely different viewpoint, then you have an amalgamation of view points which allows me to become a more educated, well-rounded person. I hardly see how saying something which I already know could ever help me in the future. I only seek to understand how others think and feel, and I will never force my point of view on to anyone else. The very most I will do is let someone know what my point of view is, and rather than incorporate it into their own point of view, I would just like them to understand mine.

You have a long way to go before you ever realize what a truly intelligent person is. Especially when your criteria is all grammar based and deals with nothing along the lines of analytical thinking, spatial reasoning, memory, crystal and fluid intellgence, etc.

But, more than anything, the more you try to show off your intellectual superiority in an effort for respect, the less me or anyone else will respect you. It is earned, not given.

And looky there, I went through a whole post without calling you a faggot or making fun of that hideous girl in your pictures.

Anyone judging the intellect of another person on this board should be banned for good reason...that being this is a message board. This is not a place to measure character or integrity by any means.

Tadou, you remind me of Ann Coulter...if you didnt exist the world would be a better place.
