i don't give a fuck what nobody says, as much as people have talked shit about them, Pen & Pixel is the best graphic design company to ever touch rap music. when everybody was talking shit about them and how corny their stuff was, did you really stop and look and think about how much work went into those albums, how much time, the thought process, pictures, the special effects, the props, how crisp and clear their work is, ridiculous

I did an interview years ago with one of the people who ran Pen & Pixel for a report I was working on for my music business class, she was hella cool, did a real thorough interview with me and gave me lots of info on their work and how they handled their clients and the business side of it all also

its nice to see their work process but that guy was fuckin idiot, but it also shows how much people outside of this culture don't really understand or fully comprehend it

Exactly. Thats where I got a lot of my inspiration from back in the day. Thats usually how it is though, people will always try to discredit whoever is doing good at the time.

the thing about pen & pixel is they did it business like, instead of fly by night freelance. most people that do it don't have an office, don't take it serious, etc. they got alot more money for the projects, did they own photography, spent more time on the material. they had some real nice covers and some pretty bad ones just like any design company in my opinion.... but they just took a different approach to things

My bad....

as for Pen N' Pixel.... they were tight back in they days of Master P... but Sean Brock is an jerk... he sent me hate mail back when Pen N' Pixel was folding up shop.. e-mailing me.. talking about how he took me into his company and teaching me the trade and how now he is getting out of the business because of the competition by independent artists..... :ermm:

I never worked for Pen N' Pixel but my friend did and Sean thought I was my friend.... it was stupid...

As for the video dudes name is Louis Theroux http://www.louis-theroux.co.uk/

yeah i saw that a while back...its the one w/ tre' 8 from new orleans in it right?

but folks hated on pen n pixel for doing what the CLIENT wanted...if a nigga wanted to be posted up in alaska on a throne w/ polar bears on an iced out dog chain...then thats just what they gave them...

ive always wondered what their stock photography library looked like and what the turn around time for the cover for this vid was...
