This update is going to feature a review from Insane Poetrys CD "faith in chaos". If you like Insane Poetry's album, Grim Reality, you will enjoy this cd from top to bottom. All the tracks are cut throat as hell and he follows the same sorta format for Grim Reality, but steps it up a notch. Here is the song by song review.
Intro - the intro has a shit load of news clips about the world trade center and so on. Its a dope intro, it sorta builds then climax's and goes into track one.
Faith In Chaos - This song is fucking cool. the idea hes expressing in this song is basically his only reason for doing this cd. Its basically saying what the chorus is saying, "we live to die" and thats all that really matters.
OKS - This track is fucking banging. ORIGINAL KILLA SHIT! this song is cyco just being cut throat. Its not as "heavy" on the sociological commentary that Insane Poetry throw on their tracks, and is just flat out a killer track. He even gives props to Brotha Lynch from sactown on this track.
Journey Inside My Mind - THIS BEAT IS FUCKING KILLER, it drives me nuts. I love it. The lyrical content of this song focus's on violence and the mental decay of people living in our world. This song takes violent rap to another level. "eating your carcass al ecarte" is my favorite one liner, but this has some of the most creative imagery ive ever heard in lyrics. I love it.
Footsteps of Danger - another killer beat. produced by Jason "JP" Pearl. Another straight up killa track. If you like straight murder shit, you will love this track. Great song to bump and listen to with a smile on your face. If you throw partys with wicked shit on the radio, this track will be something to have on rotation. The beat is head banging type shit and the lyrics are just cut throat.
Voices In My Head - This is a track about voices telling him to kill himself and anybody else he sees. If theres one thing Cyco does right its straight up violent tracks. This beat is cool, not as head bobbing as the other tracks on this album, but crazy shit in your ear none the less.
Puffin' on angeldust - more violent shit, Cycoangalo paints a wonderful picture in this track, talking about the drugs helping him get creative when he kills. The hook is dope as fuck, theres some strange echo/voice alterations on parts of the hook that sounds awesome.
Diary Of a Killa - this is a story type track. Its slow and mellow. Some grusome violent images. I think theres something wrong with me though because I laughed at part of this song. Its not funny, but there was just something that made me laugh. I like the story he tells, hes a pretty good story teller. I think this is probably my least favorite track on the cd. It isnt bad it just doesnt get me as much as the rest of the cd does. He does how ever say his name and where he lives. I thought that was kinda different and clever.
Radio KILL 66.6 is a short track explaining why he wanted to do another cd like grim reality.
Cycos sermon is a skit like track, an intro to the second half of the cd. Further explaining the faith in chaos concept, in a religious format. Clever and worth listening to. Itll make you think. This is officially the changing point of the cd from the violent rap to the reality shit.
Fall of Babylon - You will recognize the sample at the begining of this track. The song is the best example of sociological commentary i have ever seen. The moment i heard the clip on the insanepoetry.com site I fell in love with this track. Cyco rips threw EVERYTHING that is fucked up about living in our world. Some of the shit is explicitly real to LA life. If you dont live in the LA you may not know about every little incident he talks about, but youll get an idea. Just realize everything he talks about is straight real shit. He does some national shit and stuff too, but it was nice seeing someone represent the LA area too. I love the lyric in this song "Im the man in revelations showing you the head of satan". I think he put that as eloquently as possible. That is what this track is. the face of evil.
Delilah - this beat is great. Its about a girl named Delilah, the chorus changes each time around, first about booze, then weed then more and more extreme drugs. He describes this girl and she sounds pretty good looking haha. He is very descriptive of her too. Right down to her tats and so on.
Who Am I - is a clever as fuck song, you have to listen to it, I
dont want to explain it. This is just fucking brilliant. Really good track. Musically, lyrically, and heavy on your mind. I love this song.
Interview - this is an interview with Ted harris from IMI, internet music international. The questions are pretty typical, and its educational as far as who Cyco is and where the group name came from. nice little addition to the cd.
Lifes a Gamble - this track comes with some piano shit and its mellow as hell. this is one of those smoke out kinda depressing tracks. A good solid track. Not much to say about this song but damn, Cyco is on some fucking solid, depressing as fuck, real shit.
Trackin A Killa - This track is about a specific incident we all saw on the news. youll recognize the story but Id rather not get into it. Keep you wondering what it is. Its something on the news not long ago, the vocal effects on this are low and sound fucking crazy. This track is good. Intelligent, thought out, clever concept, awesome sound.
Any given Monday intro - is a girl going through tv channels and flipping out when she sees the news.
Any given monday - is a clever as fucking hell track. He starts off rapping from one point of view, then the chorus hits and its more news clips, then another verse from another view point and so on. Its a really detailed track, intelligent as all fuck. Id rather not give away the plots of this track but you will enjoy it if you like tracks about fucked up reality shit. The last part of this song is my favorite part, Cyco comes on HARD on this shit.
Footsteps of Danger REMIX - this remix is hot shit. The beat is killer. I love both versions of this track. I think I like the remix a little more.
Shout outs - This is him giving props to EVERYBODY, and i mean EVERYBODY who posts at his site or around the net. I was pleasantly suprised when i heard some of the names he says. He goes threw rappers like Madness from bedlam, Kap G, and shit and even throughs my name out in there."
