I was drunk as shit last Friday night off multiple Coronas and multiple Barenjager shots and started thinkin' about this...

Does anyone believe that there are infinite alternate paths of your lives existing somehow?

Here's an example: This morning I got up and went to work. My life continues down a certain path because I chose to get up this morning. If I decided to stay in bed and skip work my life would have continued down a different path.

But I chose the first option. Do you choose what you do and that's it? Or does what you didn't choose somehow play out in some alternate reality?

And what if you could jump from the reality you're in and the path you're on to the hundreds or thousands or millions of other realities and paths that you didn't follow?

Where are my pills? Buggin' out..

Damn thats a real interesting view...it would be interesting to be able to see how life would turn out had you taken different paths at it, real small decisions can have a real big impact on life...like when people get killed I always think about how they would have lived if they had just stayed home that night, went down a different street, not answered a certain phone call etc.

Doxx, you are a very deep thinker, even intoxicated. This idea has been theorized before. I have thought about it before also. And I have read about it from someone. Although, I can't remember from who. It is a very interesting idea to consider.

Thanks n9ne.

The idea has been in my head constantly since it first popped in there. Just thinkin' that billions (or more) of different realities of my life could be playing out on different planes of existence bugs me out. And if they do exist, to think that some could have begun from some miniscule detail that I did or didn't do at one point is really intriguing.

I could already be dead in who knows how many of these realities. Others I could be homeless. Others I could be a millionaire.

The more I think about it the weirder it gets.

Anyone else have opinions on this?

Have you have considered that if the universe is expanding, can or will the universe eventually collapse? If so, would that mean when the universe is expanding, that represent time forward? And if it collapses, does that represent time in reverse? If the universes collapses, then everything will come together, eventually exploding again, hence the big bag theory.

So if this is true, the universe is forever expanding and collapsing, and there would be an infinite amount of posibilities.

Once you jumped to the other reality what would keep you from making choices that would put you right back where you were before you changed? Would you remember what you were before you jumped? Would it be good or bad to remember?

Someone told me about "The One" last night. I never saw it or even heard about it, but I'm gonna rent it this weekend.

As for the other questions, who knows??? The possibilities are endless. Maybe if you jumped realities you just end up in your body in that new reality with no recollection of where you just came from. Or maybe you do remember, but it seems too surreal so you just pass the memory off as imagination. Do you think you can jump from one reality into another at any point you want or do you jump from one reality at a certain time and into another reality at the exact same time?

I'll use the same example as before for that question: This morning I got up and went to work. My life continues down a certain path because I chose to get up this morning. If I decided to stay in bed and skip work my life would have continued down a different path.

Now let's say a 6 months from today I want to jump into the reality that is going on had I stayed in bed instead of going to work. I would assume that since the two realities branched off at the point where I made my decision to get out of bed that both realities are continuing exactly in sync timewise. If I jumped to the other reality 6 months from now at exactly 5:30 PM, do I continue in the new reality from 6 months from now at exactly 5:30 PM? Or is it random what day and time I arrive at? Or can I choose to arrive at an earlier or later time or day?

It's way too early to be taxin' my head like this. Who has some booze?

This is a good point. What if we are actually jumping from one reality to the next all the time. Every single moment is a brand new perspective. Its a way to start over.

logically we could assume that you would arrive the same time. But, this is all theory and speculation. Maybe you could see yourself in that alternate reality and if you killed him you would gain his power! I really think this thread signifies how we all have infinite possibilites to choose from each moment of our lives. As far as traveling between these different realities, thats all speculation for now. Its all very Sci-Fi. It is like the movie, "The One". By the way, is it only me or has anyone else heard people claiming that "The One" was the sequel to "The Matrix"? How retarded is that? When I went and saw "The One" at the theater I heard people saying it was the sequel. Then later, I heard other's saying the same. Just in case anyone doesn't know, the sequel to "The Matrix" is called "The Matrix: Reloaded" its being released May 15th 2003...................................
