Pickax victims related to Lil' Kim theft case
Lil' Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Jones, was boarding a United Airlines flight from New York to Los Angeles on June 20 to attend the Black Entertainment Television awards when the theft occurred.
Kim had a carry-on bag containing about $250,000 worth of jewelry, including her trademark diamond-encrusted "Queen Bee" necklace. An error at the airline check-in counter caused the carry-on bag to get mixed in with the rest of the rapper's luggage, and, when the bag was recovered, the necklace and some other pieces were missing.
The jewelry was later found, wrapped in a rag, by a United Airlines worker in an employee locker room.
Sachs, the rap star's attorney, said yesterday that he remained convinced Acheson was trying to extort money from Kim.
"I was only looking to see if there was reward money," Acheson said. "I just became a father and thought the money would come in handy. I'm not a snitch, and I'm also not an extortioner."
