I think I.T. came in the game on dead prez's coattails, overly reveloutionary but still wants to be thugged out...
My take on IT is that he needs to broaden his horizons past community and political struggles if he wants anyone to stay awake while he raps
hes a cool showman on stage
and i respect his work with non profits and so on
but at the end of the day he lost a battle to POSTABOY of all people on 106 and park...so i guess that full-on explains what the 16-22 age demographic thinks of him..
one ear and out the other..
hes headphone rap to me...there comes a time and place for it.
but always aint the time..
i listen to him on the daily im feeling what he says. im bumpin a gang of more east coast shit nowadays...
edit eastcoast in the ipizzle
playa rae in the ride and dubee
I like the fact that he's at least trying to speak on political issues since so few emcees really do. There's some of it I don't agree with and his flow can get tiresome after several songs, but he's cool with me.
Is his album ever coming out though? It's been a while since Revolutionary Vol. 2
Immortal technique has great lyrics and great rapping skills. He is supposed to come out with a greenlatern mixtape hopefully by the end of summer and the middle passage is supposed to come out near the end of the year.
I think there needs to be more rappers like him. He knows what he's talking about and he talks about what he knows so he's not just babbling on about irrelevant shit. He's one of the few rappers who can make me appreciate the power of hip-hop. It can be informative if used right.
