If you haven't already, you might wanna check out The Shepherd of the Hills. I live in the Ozarks, so their stories are everywhere. There's a live show in Branson, Mo. of that book.

The book I read is Bald Knobbers: Vigilantes on the Ozarks Frontier by Mary Hartman. I've read a few books about the Ozarks in general though. There is some very interesting history in that part of America.

A few other good books I've read about the area are Ozark Magic and Folklore by Vance Randolph, Hill Folks: A History of Arkansas Ozarkers and Their Image by Brooks Blevins, and A Living History of the Ozarks by Phyllis Rossiter.

HAHA True. The play they put on is really dope. I don't know how many times I've seen it as I've worked in Branson for years and get into most of the attractions in town for free.

I'm sure my dad's read a few of those books you mentioned, though I've not heard of them. He's big into the history of the Ozarks and the people of this area.

I'd post pics of the area around my house, but I can't find them. It's a killer view. I can climb on the roof of my parent's house and look at three or four mountain tops at a time.
