STREET NIGHTMARE IN SAN DIEGO?

I got a flood of email from readers upset, disappointed and and purely pissed off at the Street Dreams tour stop in San Diego. Most (if not all) of the readers said they were "got" for their hard-earned money. People want to know what happened. Read an unedited letter from one person:

Ey man can u shine some light on what's happenin with that bulls**t tour. We paid 150 for each ticket. It was suppose to start @ 7pm. Some local artists performed for like 30 minutes then we waited almost 2 hours listenin to a mix cd over and over. We all had a feeling it was going to get cancelled because the arena was only half full. Weezy finally came out like @ 930 for a 30 minute set then left. Half an hour later jeezy came for like 25 minutes and that was it. After all that waiting and bs they put us through we didn't get out moneys worth. No Rich boy no fat joe no jim jones no fabolous. Everybody in san diego got hustled. Some homies that was backstage with one the local artists entourage said Weezy was about leave cuz he wanted $50,000 just for him plus baby and jeezy had to get paid. Everybody was booing throughout the show. I just wanna know why they did that they should've just cancelled and gave us our money back instead of putting on a weak ass show.
This is exactly what we were all talking about in that thread....bad news travels fast and thats bad representation on the #1 rated website for rap and hip hop for our city...i noticed this because i saw the words "san diego" in the link.....

looks like thats how were gonna get seen if shit keeps happening...

lets get our shit together even if we have to form a city-wide organization to handle shit like this in someway..it would hurt to see our city in a bad light like this again....

once again thanks to all that put their hard earned money and effort into giving san diego the buzz it has.

In 2005, ipayOne made a deal to pay 2.5 million over five years for San Diego Sports Arena naming rights. Last week, the venue reverted back to its original name and workers took down ipayOne signage.

The action somewhat confirmed a Pollstar magazine report that said the Carlsbad-based mortgage company stopped making payments for the naming rights last year. It's been confirmed that ipayOne is no longer accepting real estate listings and that is is liquidating its assets.

The Sports Arena sits on land owned by the City of San Diego. In addition to lease payments to the city amounting to nearly half a million dollars annually,Arena group 2000 is expected to pay the city 10 percent of the money it gets from the naming rights. Developer Ron Hahn, the owner of Arena Group 2000, allegedly has majority ownership of the ipayOne brokerage. The ramifications of the city losing out to the approximately $200,000 it was expecting to receive over the next three years are unknown. Neither Ron Hahn nor his son Ernie (general manager of the Sports Arena) returned calls for the comment.

.....now lets say.....a show with headliners was advertised...costs were cut at the last moment (why certain people might not have got paid etc etc)....to pay off a percentage of what san diego was owned..

and san diego was in on this because they wanted their money back..

im not saying its what happened....im just saying it looks to be deeper than we thought..and ipayone straight up jacked a few thousand people to pay off some bills....

and what better to use than a rap show..i wonder what the numbers were on that show...and i bet those numbers will never come out straight for obvious reasons..

that still sounds like sketchy business

especially to fill a sports arena half way and let it ride
ah well, not in my name...although it is in san diegos name technically
yeah...they should of shut it down...offered refunds. If it was Celine Dion or Mariah Carey or anyone of that stature....the show would not have went on. Who's call is it to pull the plug if a certain quota isn't met?

probably ipayone....and the sports arena..which is why i say that sounds like a plan after i read what i saw in the reader..

chances are some lies were told on both sides..and we'll see a cover up on all angles..i mean if this was any sort of corporate lick...

they should definately offer refunds. but you know, no ones gonna rally about it.

thats the problem with selling your name rights to any dot com who claims they have the money...someone who should have absolutely no say in your cities business now in some way does...all ballparks have different names now..

HERE IS SOME INFORMATION BECAUSE I FEEL THE PUBLIC SHOULD KNOW. THE PEOPLE WHO HUSTLED THE PUBLIC ALSO BOOKED OUR DJ'S THE DEMOLITION MEN TO COME AND DJ THE EVENT. WE PLANNED FOR OVER A MONTH TO HAVE THEM FLY TO DAGO AND DO THE SHOW. THE DAY OF THE SHOW, WERE AT THE AIRPORT, GUESS WHAT...THEY DIDNT PAY FOR OUR FUCKIN PLANE TICKETS...I CALLED EM NUMEROUS TIMES, GUESS WHAT...NO RESPONSE. I HAD TO HAVE MY TWO DJ'S SPEND THE DAY WITHOUT A BOOKING, WHICH WAS A WASTE OF THEIR TIME AND MONEY. I HAVE TRIED TO TALKE TO THE PROMOTER RICH SEVERAL TIMES, HE HAS NOT EVEN GIVEN ME A CALL BACK. I HEARD THAT MORNING HE HAD NOT YET PAYED JEEZY, IM SURPRISED HE EVEN SHOWED UP.

I LEARNED MY LESSON, ALWAYS MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE PLANE TICKETS BY CALLING IN, NOT JUST BELIEVING WHAT THEY SAY BECAUSE THEY "HELD" THE TICKETS IN PEOPLES NAMES...

MITCHY....I THINK YOU KNOW WHO THE JERK WHO DID THIS WAS...I FEEL YOU WE WONT BE HAVING JACKA, TRAXAMILLION, OR ANYONE FROM OUR CAMP DO BIZ WITH HIM ANYMORE UNLESS WE GET GWAPPED OUT UP FRONT.

LESSON LEARNED...BUT THIS BIZ IS DOOMED TO FAIL IF PEOPLE CONTINUE TO DO SHADY BIZ.
