I have a friend who's dad purchased a house down the street from their current house, my friends father has been working his whole life and has 2 (now 3) houses to show for it, he has 3 kids also so I guess his plan is for each of his kids to have a house.

My buddy doesnt want to take a house because he feels like he didnt earn it, he wants to get his own house and keep the other house as a "kickback" pad. While I think its good he has plan of trying to get his own house, I dont think it will be possible for quite some time as the houses over here are in the 300-500k range.

I say to hell with pride and other bullshit, if my bitch of a father were to buy me a house I'd take it in a heartbeat and be grateful that my father is giving me a house. I mean if he worked and worked to buy that house to give it to me, then who am I to reject it?

Any opinions?

The fuck. If my parents kicked me down 5 bucks I would take it. Tell this kid he is half retarded for not taking this house. Seriously. My parents don't give me a damn penny. If one day they gave me a house! shit I would damn near shit my pants.

I respect and understand his opinion...at the same time....

Tell him atleast if he is not going to live in it to atleast rent the shit out.

I think the fool is an idiot, he tries to spin it around trying to make me look greedy, I learned a long time ago to accept when people are trying to help you and be grateful and thankful
I guess its because I've been homeless and have been down whereas my buddy hasnt.

Damn Ungrateful kids in the suburbs.

"Damn Ungrateful kids in the suburbs."

I don't think he is being ungrateful. I think he just feels undeserving of such a huge gift.

"He doesnt need to be like that, just to take the house their is nothing wrong moral or otherwise in taking a house that a family member gives to you."

However, I think that is true as well.

If his dad has worked so hard to buy this house for his son...the least he can do is live in it...its a huge jump in life to own a home and hes already got that oppurtunity...i kno that when my girl buys me hella shit just cuz (shes hella rich im hella poor) i learned to just accept the gifts because who am i to judge what i dont deserve to recieve? Apparently i deserve something if shes buyin it for me..so apparently he deserves the house...just my thoughts

we're talkin about a house here.... somethin that's being offered to him for free.... and will save him at least a good $2000 per month.... i think your buddy needs to be hauled off into a special camp for dangerous stupids.

SGC, you feel me? Fuck the bullshit, I didnt earn it bullshit, I can understand it if this was a stranger but this is pops giving him a house.
Damn suburbian kids, he claims to have had it hard in life. I get mad everytime he says that, "I sold drugs" he pushed a little weed in the area with no real danger. "I got fucked" he had
unprotected sex one time with a fat broad right after falling and breaking his wrist but he was too drunk to notice.

If someone offers me something, I'm taking it if I dont have it. I cant afford to say I dont deserve it.
