The point I'm trying to make is, If we don't come together and support one another then we would lose all the pain sweat that we put in for decades. E-40, Too Short, Messy Marv, and the rest of the soldiers that put in work for years would be just a waste. In order for us to do that we must support record sales of all of our conrads buy buying each and everyone of there cds. We want folks to purchase our product but we don't, Instead of burning cd's we need to run to the retail outlets and spend the cheese. I myself have been in a couple of Independent and major artist vehicles and 90% of the cds are burned or giving to them buy the labels, that's cool but also purchase one as well and give the other to your brother or nephew. Let's not lose, make the first quater a success.

easily said but good luck getting done. all i see on this board is constant hate and self promotion. no props unless talkin about old bay shit. i see fake ass rappers on here flooding good threads promoting their own shit. fuck that if we wanna get big we need to support eachother like you said, rather than just ourselves cause thats all we doin right now!

I'm feeling everyone's comments, we have good folks in the Independent game that has the political voice to speak up but they worry about self...alot are on the board daily. Me myself, I help alot of folks get distribution, but if they don't know the game, they espect the Distributor to promote there record...It don't work that away.

I was an artist before I was a executive, so I read between the lines...everyone want's radio, if you have the cheese, trust me you can get radio but you may not sale shit, now if you have a hit and your staff is working the record daily then you may have something...but as a Independent label or artist, fuck radio, meaning INDI-PEN-DENT, not like priority records...to keep it real, California is cool but the mid-west, South and oversees should be the target markets, the west has fallen, not saying it won't come back, but you have to move were the money is and also the networking, L.A. isn't the place, start listening to Westcoast artist lyrics now "bling Bling, OK, All Ready, Stunt, I wish a muthafucca would". All that is from the Mid-west and South, It's not our turn yet.

40Glocc is doing ok but oversees he's killing them, but he'll never see a penny, why?, because he sold his soul...a label will put $50,000 in a young black kid face that never seen $50,000 legally, make him sign the doted line then they'll do a lincensing deal without your knowlege and make a million while here in the states you'll never see money from record sale because they have to re-coupe, so if the label put $150,000 in your project they won, your record that made a million in sales made them a profit of $850,000 but the the cold thing about some lincensing deals some labels or distributors pay upfront and do all your promotion & markeing, publication and print, manufacturing and you as the artist can't do shit about it, this is called pimping the artist. So continue to worry about self and not network with others, you'll be like alot of these so called "LOCAL RAP STARS", branch out folks, if you need help holla. I don't fuck wit Hollywood ass niggaz, I fuck wit folks that wanna learn. And don't forget, nothing is free in this game, you have to spend in order to win.
