They need to bring it back to the survival horror roots. Didnt know they had this video out and im pretty sure some of yall saw it already but I like these camera angles better. Not no Gears Of War rip off and fuck fighting ghosts and dolls. Bring back the real zombies. Not no zombies that can sprint full speed, throw knives with supreme accuracy and operate AK-47s and miniguns. WTF?

i agree beginning with resident evil 4 the franchise started moving away survival horror and into action/adventure....the fact that zombies are literally replaced by a sort of alien worm and not a viral outbreak really made me pissed....resident evil 4 was a great game for what it was..i couldnt get into resident evil 5 and i bought it even the DLC yet i have no interest to help that black chick that follows you around...the over the shoulder camera is annoying me...the fact that the infected seem to be faster than my character and are better at dodging attacks....i still play resident evil 1-3 on the ps3...i even have the remake of resident evil 1 for the game cube and that shit is amazing...

i wonder why they never felt the urge to remake 2 or 3 even code veronica with some updated graphics these games would come back to life...like zombies

that RE4 beta looks awesome...too bad its like 7-8 years old because that didnt make the game

Hate to break it to you bro, but even Silent Hill is subtlely taking that approach more and more with every release. You know the industry is fucked up when that series can't stay consistently on point..I think Resident Evil 4 was great though, instead of giving you stiff controls like all the ones before it, you get some atheletic crazy mother fucker with ninja skills that includes diving through 2 story windows, kicking mother fuckers in the grill and suplexing them, and running alot better than the rest of the assholes in RE..Its survival horror, who the fuck jogs like its a sunday stroll in the park when your adrenalines pumping?

So they needed to add extra difficulty by giving you a better challenge..Still, changing the entire story that there was a plague outbreak just to rule out the villagers being zombies was a bit extreme...

Anyways RE4 was a great game..

no doubt RE4 was a great game...back then i bought the game cube specifically for RE4 and then i bought RE ( remake) and RE ZERO....i still own the games

in RE4 the whole behind the shoulder stuff took away from the survival horror aspect for me..in RE 1-3 and CV:X..it was all about camera angles, tight corridors and atmosphere...where you could hear it but you couldnt see it because the camera wasnt there.. RE4 was also a more open environment more places to explore, hide and run...i did like the weapons case that leon had however with so many ways to fit multiple items/guns you could really stock pile...unlike relying on boxes scattered through the game with only 6-8 slots to carry items on character..that really made you strategize your next move..do you carry health or do you carry ammo...what if you get poisoned do you need a blue herb lol...fuck i need an ink ribbon lol....

RE4 is a great game for trying something new..it definitely picked the series back up, but with RE5 it wasnt fun for me..and it was pretty much the only game i wanted for the 360..there was talk to make it a 360 exclusive at one point...but much like RE4 it came to the PS

also: i dont know if it was just me being high as shit back then...but you can play Brotha lynch's LOADED album as a perfect soundtrack to RE2...i was probably just high lol

the first resident evil was my shit, that dog that jumped through the window scared the holy shit out of me

the whole haunted house full of zombies thing was sick. and the spiders yo!! i just remembered that.

i was a huge fan of re4 but i didnt even buy re5, i played the demo and i was like...gaaaay....rented it, and didnt play it the entire week i had it for rent...thats how i know im not gonna like a game...if i rent it and dont even play it, thats what itll do to my 50-60 bucks

one of my favorite moments in re4 which i thought was sick was killing the sea monster, sure it wasnt as 'scary' as re1, but it had the scary swag to it. re5 just was like come on.....zombie africans? oh yea?

i think i might start playing re4 again, fuck it....ps2 still works might as well

i loved the intro to RE with the real life characters...made that shit have a movie feel to it

RE5 was awful...i didnt like the chick always hanging around stealin my boxes or having to share with her...and if she dies game over

i played the DLC i think it was lost in nightmares where chris and jill revisited the mansion and that was tight just because it was a familiar setting...i would love to see all the games remade for todays consoles....but the game cube version of RE1 was pretty amazing

lol @ gears of war rip off, the creator of GOW admitted in an interview he bit RE4's swag

It would be completely retarded to hinder the controls again after they already improved them drastically. You see in the previews for the remake of MGS3 on the 3DS, they have the camera angle pulled in close, like in MGS4, because isometric views fucking suck in action games.

I just want those different camera angles back. Shit use to scare the fuck outta me as a kid. before it use to cut to the next camera angle, you didnt know what the fuck was about to pop out. Had me hitting the next angle and turn around real quick back to the last angle so id be prepared for whatever already popped out. haha

game cube version> ps2 version
was game of the year on cube
thats because RE4 was supposed to be a game cube exclusive...than they decided to port it to the ps2

RE1 ( remake ) for the game cube is amazing..its like the game capcom wanted to make but ran out of room and had to cut shit out...not including the graphic/sound capabilities are far superior than the ps1 version

i still dont understand why capcom hasnt gone for remakes of 2,3 and CODE:Veronica...

I'll give you that, it's nowhere near as scary as it used to be. I think Capcom learned that fun games sell more than scary games. While scary games do have their market of fans out there, fun shooting games have probably the 2nd biggest fanbase behind family/kids games.

Maybe it didn't sell well enough for them to do anymore remakes. Actually I think what did them in was RE: Zer0, I don't think that sold well at all and it was in the same style as old games. After that, RE: 4 was made and they never looked back.

#1 naw, resident evil as it was created really began the survivor horror genre...and its what made the series so popular to continue creating new games for the franchise...anything with the name resident evil name sells...i think they tried a new concept with RE4 it was different and accepted because the game was amazing...RE5 wasnt nearly as fun...i dont accept a RE game as an action/shooter...and if capcom continues to move foward with the franchise they have to bring it back to what made it great

#2 i think it sold well enough...im sure i wasnt the only one who went out and purchased a game cube just for RE1, RE4 and RE zero...and seriously games that i still own for the GC...though if they did remake 2,3,CV im sure it wouldnt be on GC now...im sure capcom has or is considering the idea for as many rehashed games they produce ( street fighter especially ) Resident evil is a cash cow and why not milk it for everything they can..there is a market especially now for "remakes" ...RE5 along with terrible movies have really set the series back

The difference between 4 & 5 was, 4 was a completely new direction and was fresh and innovative for the time. While 5 was a complete rehash of 4 in a new setting. I wasn't really feeling the demo of 5, I still play 4 tho. I think they will remake 2-3/code veronica eventually but they're still not that old. It's better to wait I'd say 10 years before a remake. You know they released 2 & 3 as direct ports on Gamecube right?

It did get it moving, but it didn't create the survival horror genre. That would go to this game, which if you see theres alot of similarities...

Notice @ 3:23 when opening the door slowly your characters heart beats, to make it suspenseful..just saying...

This is pretty interesting too

that is great knowledge...basically resident evil/biohazard was an upgraded version of that game...even the western name residing evil fucking awesome that i now know where that came from...because ive always wondered why in japan it was biohazard and here it was resident evil...either way both were created by capcom...and the creator of resident evil paid his respects to the original...double props to you sir

No doubt, that game looks pretty dope too I'ma get a emulator later and play it..They should remake it and throw out that turn based shit and put it in 3rd Person, could be great..
