...would you join a secret society? Now mind you, for the purpose of this thread, I'll use the wiki definition of "secret society" and add to it (bold emphasis)

Secret society is a term used to describe clubs or organizations in which the activities and inner functioning of those societies are concealed from non-members. The society may or may not attempt to conceal its existence. The members of the society work together for a common purpose, agenda or goal.
So, if offered the chance would you join a secret society? If yes why would you do so? If no why wouldn't you? If you're stuck in the middle what would cause you to change your mind? BTW, there is no right or wrong answer.

It can be argued that a gang is a form of a secret society but for the sake of this thread gangs are not applicable.

it all depends on what the "common purpose, agenda or goal" is and if there is a sacrifice to be made to enter.

so my vote would be "Maybe. It depends." but I'm an asshole so I voted "SHUT THE FUCK UP HERESY"

Like my father as a member of the free masons, I'd join to help people in need and at the same time, use the connections to help my own business...

If it would put me in a position of being financially set, or get into politics I would... but it would challenge my morals against it.

membership invitation into most of these type of organizations are through family legacy.........

kind of like college fraternities, if your grandfather and dad are members of Omega Psi Phi, there is no choice for the son, except Omega Psi Phi or nothing at all

If it was a bunch of white guys, no. If it was a Mexican society, perhaps...
lol a Mexican society sorry to burst your little world but there are white Mexicans too, Lebanese Mexicans, Asian Mexicans, German Mexicans its not a race its a nationality with a spanish culture with some distinct traditions.

A lot of Mexican Americans think like you so don't take it personal. I lived in Mexico BTW. Globalization is the key word here. Got to stop thinking in terms of Race and start thinking in terms of class.

By Mexican, I mean people who have blood native to Mexico...even including pre-1848 Mexico. It's the struggle I identify with the most.

I don't take it personal. I'm just saying I would only be down to join a Mexican society, never mentioned race.
