As featured on Kazaa's little webpage thingy...

"Description
Bang Bang and Swazy are the first two singles off the SMG (Sex, Money & Gunz) debut album 'Repossesion'. SMG quickly reminds you that there are more topics for rap records than Diamonds, Money, and Clubs. Ice T being an innovator, is also giving you the ability to sample the album for free, and if you like it you can download it immediately for USD$4.99; that cuts out the fees of chain stores, radio, record companies and payola! Ice T is also giving new groups and established groups outside the rhetoric of record companies the chance to have their music featured and sold to millions of consumers through Finallevelentertainment.com again cutting out the middlemen."

Anyone care to comment?

Yeah... "Preview" it. The only reason I'd pay for music is if I get an actual album cover, and cd, and case... It's the packaging that sells albums to me. If I don't see any reason to go out and buy retail, I just download singles and burn them.

I always consider putting that case in my collection as part of the fun of buying cd's... Maybe it's just because I'm a music fan and "collector" I guess, but If I "preview" his album by hearing the whole thing, why would he expect me to pay him 5 bucks for something I already have?

At least Tech said "You can get the whole cd, but buy the complete album and get a 70 min. dvd for free with it..."

Now even that lil Romeo kid on No Limit has a big ass "Free DVD, no extra charge" sticker on his albums.

Tech changed the game, indie style..

I don't see why you wouldn't buy his album after you heard it. Sure, you can download AP for free but I still bought it. It is basically a respect thing man. If you like an artist or like the album then buy it...anyways, what exactly is he rapping about on this album instead of the same old shit?

I'm not sure... The whole deal is that he's from LA, and the two kats with him are from the Bronx... So they're marketing it as a new sound. It sounds kind of interesting, and it's free so maybe I should d/l it, but I'm too lazy.

Exactly... When I pay for things I like to be able to actually pick the shit up, throw it, break it, or show it to someone....

I wouldn't pay to download music. It's an interesting idea, and I appreciate the cheap fee and everything, but it's not the money issue that makes people burn cd's. It's being able to get what you want, when you want it. Also, being able to get it BEFORE you're supposed to. T is on the right track, but paying for something you can get for free is just silly... Maybe if I could go to the store and get the album art, and case and shit, then I'd pay for it. But pay 5 bucks to get the same shit I can get for free? Bah.

I'm gonna go download that Cop Killer album... I like that shit.

Ice-T... ha, ha...

Nice try. I probably wouldn't buy that shit if he sold the whole album with the case and art for 3.00... I tried to listen to some of his shit a while back and was like, Fahq this... Too old sounding to me..

I would not pay 5 dollars to download shit. The ideal to me would be download to see if i liked it, and then i would go buy it. But only if i liked it.

And Tech's thing was not to give away the free DVD, even though that was a plus. The ideal was to show the "MAN" that people would buy good music, even if they had a chance to download it. I'm only a fan of burning music to see if you like it. Then if you bump that shit buy it. A respect thing, so that an artist you like/love can keep doing his thing and (don't let me get started) to keep eating.

I have no burned cd's in my collection. EXcept for one the artist gave to me. Not taking from anybody else, but thats just me. But my cd collection is not very big. I just tend to buy the same shit again, cause i keep fucking the old ones up.

But to sum up, sounds to me like he can't get a deal and said. Fuck it i got to do something.
