Both left & right (although mainly directed toward my fellow social-liberal-commie-capitalist-democrats)

I wanna know...

What people are doing to take proactive measures to make change. Change does not happen by it self. Raising awareness about the nefarious actions our system implements indeed plays an important roll in "revolution," however, I reiterate who is actually doing something?

Actions speak louder than words, ere'body can talk the talk but who's really walkin' the walk?

My intent is not to antagonize anybody, but I just wanna know who's actually doing something?

I see a lot of people exhert an exhorbent amount of energy preaching to the choir (so to speak), but who is making phone calls, sending emails, or writing letters to their congressmen or local media source (i.e. local news channel, or periodical like independent publications, or even mainstream publications like NY Times), who does fundraising or grassroots promotions.

WHO IS ACTUALLING HELPING A CAUSE THEY BELIEVE IN???

(p.s. if your awnser is simple "What's the point" or "Who f**king care's, ain't nuthin' fin to change anyway!?!" than not responding will plenty suffice. I'm just curious as to who & what individuals on this board are actually makin' moves are what they're doing and how they go about it? Your input is valued and appreciated...)

RESPECT

Well, for one, I would like to think participating in debates on message boards is a good method of spreading information. I know I have learned a great deal from this board as well as others. I also know I have changed a few minds.

I have never written any letters to congressman or the media (my attitude on this is"What's the point").

I am a member of a couple of organizations and I try to help out with things when I can. I am a very open person and I am not afraid to discuss sensitive topics such as 9/11, Iraq war, etc, with people in person and I often find myself engaged in debates. I do my best to make people aware of the things I know. I help any comrade who asks for it; whether it’s research, help with flyers, email, proof reading, basically anything.

I would like to do more…possibly have my own website. I am an opportunist, so when things come my way, I like to try as much as possible.

I’ve also been going back and forth mentally with a couple of things.

On one hand, I hate Bush. I hate our current government and I can see how negative it is for humanity. Because of this, I think that we must vote Bush out of office immediately.

On the other hand, I have come to the realization that Bu$hCo. isn’t primarily the problem; it’s Capitalism. If Bush gets voted out of office, it will just happen again. It’s a cycle. So, the question now becomes, is it better for humanity in the long wrong if Bush stays in office? If things keep getting worse and worse; will the people unite? We know from history that the only way to really unite is by tragedies and/or poor living conditions.

So, you can see the dilemma. As much as some people would disagree, the reason I am the way I am is because I actually want humanity to advance and get better. This is why I’m atheist. This is why I am a Marxist.
