Am I the only person who gets contacted by people who supposedly need graphic work done, but they always wanna back out? Let me explain this...I get about 5 IMs/e-mails a day from people who say they need graphics, talking like theyre strictly businessI usually refer them to my site for answers to all their questions such as prices, portfolio, etc. Its always the same thing, "I'll have to get back at you when I get some money because Im broke," and they never do. Am I the only one who get contacted by people like this? Here's my issue...if u cant pay for graphics, then dont deal with an artist. If you expect for it to be free and you that a person charges for their work, then dont even come with that bullshyt. Its strictly business around here. For yall who claim to be ballers, business-men, CEO's, etc. but cant pay for graphics...this is for you! Im speaking for every graphic artist on this board when I say that if u cant pay for graphic work, then dont even contact an artist playing games.

I am the only contractor who can't get people to respond to me. I had to DEDICATE a post just to recruit people...and I got like 3 replies. I emailed them back, including you, and am still waiting on an answer.
This is a fast paced industry. The other contractors may have backed out becuase someone else jumped onto the project, cuz they were quicker about it.

itz just a part of business........but i agree wit Hydro, 100% up front isnt really cool.....i normally need a 50% non-refundable deposit before i start any work......your gonna get folkz tryna score free shit, when they relize your gonna charge em, they move on to the next designer and try the same shit.....it happenz to all of us im sure

I JUS LET MY SKILLS TRAVEL BY WORD OF MOUTH AND IF SOMEONE REALLY FEELIN MY SHIT AND WANTS A COVER OR OTHER WORK DONE THEN THEY CAN CONTACT ME AND IF THEY SERIOUS THEN THEY WILLING TO PUT DOWN A DEPOSIT....OTHERWISE I TELL EM I CANT FUCC WIT EM CUZ I TOO HAVE WASTED ALOT OF TIME TRYIN TO NEGOTIATE DEALS AND EVEN HAVE GONE AS FAR AS DESIGINING ARTWORK THAT NEVER GETS USED.....IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT I GUESS...IM HAPPY WIT THE WAY I HAVE THINGS RUNNIN AS OF NOW.....

As a CEO i would never ever pay 100% down. I am currently working with evilwayz and we did 50% down the rest to be paid when the finished project is deliverd. But as someone else said in this thread already sometimes i contact people and they either dont get back at me quick enough so i move on to someone else. Now that i fuck with evilwayz i aint got that problem. As long as he is willing to take my money he will be doing the covers. Another problem i see is that often i e mail people just to see what the price is going to be. If this is the first time you are putting a cd out you have no idea what the cost for graphics is going to be. Then once you find out you gotta get that money. Just cause your CEO dosent mean you got money comming out your ears. Especialy in this rap shit. I aint got no credit and dont know anyone who does. Money gotta be saved to be spent. And lastly their are alot of people who are charging way to much for what they are capable of doing. If i have seen you post on here and your stuff is just o.k then i contact you and you ask for more money then i think its worth what am i supposed to do?
