I thought you could not be tracked on torrents

I just received a letter from my internet provider claiming I have been caught downloading a movie that has a copyright from Paramount/Dreamworks. I thought bittirrents were not traceable.....what does this letter mean?

Anybody else ever receive a letter like this?

just ignore it im pretty sure people get these all the time and it is supposedly from a group of lawyers hired by the RIAA to scare people

email them back and say that you didnt do that... if you have wireless internet you can claim that someone breeched it

if they reply with any kind of threats or warnings about canceling service delete the movie and anything else that you downloaded through p2p and email them back stating that you have no such files on your computer and will fight this

I just got a notice telling me my AVG was a "pirated version" and that my updates were disabled.. lol. Nothing for movies yet. Im not worried. Listen to Kix though and look into peer gaurdian.

what site did you use? Try to avoid public torrent sites like piratesbay, etc. and try to use invite only sites. Much safer.

Anyway.....Charter is my internet provider. They sent me the letter with all the info on it.

I am just going to quit DLing with torrents.
