makes you appreciate football and its parity because of the salary cap
something that baseball desperately needs
basketball as well

Don't blame the yankees blame the greedy ass players. If the yankees can afford to buy the best players out there then why not do it? You and most other people who complain wouldn't say shit if it was your favorite team doing the same shit.

THERES NO SALARY CAP, ITS NOT AN EVEN PLAYING FIELD PLAIN AND SIMPLE, OTHER TEAMS HAVE NO SHOT AT GETTING A SUPERSTAR CUZ THE YANKEES CAN OUTBID ANYBODY CUZ THERES NO SALARY CAP WHICH MAKES BASEBALL NOT THAT ENTERTAINING KNOWING THAT THE YANKEES WILL BE AT LEAST IN THE WORLD SERIES DAMN NEAR EVERY YEAR.

I RATHER WATCH FOOTBALL OR BASKETBALL ANY DAY OF THE WEEK JUST FOR THE FACT ITS MORE COMPETITVE TEAMS NOT ONE STAND OUT TEAM!!!!

yes, in football, anyone can win any year, but the same goes for baseball too. just look at the angels two years ago and the marlins twice in 7 years.

as far as basketball, there is the least amount of parity. they do have a salary cap yet there is NO parity. just look at the records so far this year. the west is is a lot better than the east. while most of the western teams are above .500, most of the eastern teams are below .500.

just look at where the warriors were ranked before the season. they were ranked 13th in the west and 17th or 18th overall. while there was 12 teams better than them in the west, there was only 5 teams better than them in the east.

the reason there is no salary cap is that the union of the baseball players will not agree to a salary cap why cuz of greed...there most powerful sports union thats why baseball is fading

shit if they had a salary cap the a's would have Jason Giambi

I love what the Yankees do.Ted Turner got more bread than any of these guys, but won't spend the money to win the big one, even though they come close. The league even added revenue sharing to try and stop the Yankees, but they truly have an ownership who wants to win, which is what sports are all about.

@ Bammer---> i thought Ted Turner wasnt the owner of the Braves anymore.

@Mex14---> salary cap or not the Yankees will always have the best players because the players will always want to go there even if they take a pay cut, just like Karl Malone and Gary Payton took less from the Lakers due to salary cap restrictions jsut to play with the Lakers.

yanks want to sign Kevin Brown...
even thought he is in the top 5 pitchers in MLB in my opinion, i wouldnt mind giving him up for nick johnson and alfonso soriano. remember caff we got 3 up and coming top of the rotation pitchers coming through the system (joel haranahan {lefty}, greg miller {lefty}, and edwin jackson).

we need hitting badly and if the yankees are willing to give up that much for an old 15 million a year pitcher (although he is awesome) maybe it is worth it to us Dodger Fans

i am going to have to check that out.

Edwin Jackson:
http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/N...layer_bio.jsp?club_context=la&playerid=429719

2002 Highlights:
Honored as the Dodger organization's Minor League Pitcher of the Year after a stellar season for South Georgia...in 19 starts, he was 5-2 with a 1.98 ERA, allowing just 79 hits and 33 walks while striking out 85 and limiting opposing hitters to a .206 average in 104.2 innings... the 1.98 ERA tied for the lowest among all Dodger full-season minor leaguers...in six starts he did not yield an earned run and in six other starts, he allowed just one earned run.

Career Summary: Is in his third professional season...becomes the third youngest pitcher to start a game for the Los Angeles Dodgers, trailing only Joe Moeller (19 years, two months) in 1962 and Dick Calmus (19 years, seven months) in 1963....became the 18th player and 14th pitcher drafted in 2001 to reach the Major Leagues...is the youngest of that group and one of just three high school players to reach the big leagues...was the youngest pitcher in the Double-A Southern League in 2003 prior to the arrival of his teammate, Greg Miller...rated as the best pitching prospect in the Southern League, according to Baseball America in its annual "Best Tools" issue...the publication also ranked him as having the best fastball in the league...

Greg Miller and Joel Hanrahan:
