where can i find more analog-or digital-SYNTH sounds.... like zapp, parlament, battlecat, superfly type shit

i need to find pluggins, gear, vst's any thing....
i aint tryin to buy/dl shit till i either play wit it my self, or know that ppl can vouch for the prog/gear

i got:
triton studio, mc-505 groovebox, cubase, korg m1, mpc 4000 right now... but all the vst's i got for cubase sound like shit...

all help apreciated

1) First buy the MOSS engine expansion card for your triton. This is the most powerful modelling tool on any workstation synth since the kurzweils. Make your own sounds, you can't go wrong.

2) Buy one of the following

Access Virus = Minimoog sounds, classic early 90's west coast funk
JP-8080 = Slammin basses, Ant Banks' fav synth
Nord = If you have time to program it, limitless synth
MS2000 = Overrated, shitty polyphony and limited modelling, avoid.

first thing, you should really take some time out to learn the basics of modeling your own sounds with a synthesizer, if you don't already know. For instance, what would happen if you tweaked a filter and some resonance to a sound that you have running through a low pass filter, or what would happen if you adjusted that attack. From there, play around with some of those VST demos, Pro52, absynth, etc, and see what kind of sounds you can make with them.

Shit, even try out the subtractor in Reason, I learned a lot about synthesizers playing with that, and some ol school pro-one keyboard that a neighbor let me borrow for a year.

Maybe you don't have any quality VSTi's... Or maybe you aren't programming them very deeply. Also remember that they won't sound as good as your Triton's sounds without a little bit of effects (delay, reverb, chorus, phaser, etc).

I recommend z3ta+, Albino, Delta III, Pro-53, x-phrase, atmosphere, moog modular v, novation v-station, novation bass-station, fm7, discodsp discovery, loungelizard mk2, muon tau, ppg wave, and more that I can't remember right now.

If you don't find any of those VSTi's up to snuff, I HIGHLY reccomend that you spend more time learning to design sounds.

A combination of some of those and Halion with some sample cds should best any soundmodule/workstation out right now.

i can model my own sounds... i like to get in and fuck wit it... but for some reason i get frustrated and give up if its software... i like to actually tweak the physical knobs, instead of rolling my mouse over it... thats why gear is more desireable to me... but i like the way some soft synths sound, like absynth, and modular moog.

i got access to the moss board... i just havent fucked wit it yet... but ive heard nothing but good stuff about it so far..

those three are actually what im looking at for my next pieces of gear... i was just talkin to heresy about the 8080, and i used to go to this studio with a 8080, virus, mini moog, and proteus 2000, and the virus and roland stood out to me....

You might want to try a controller with knobs so that you can change parameters with the controller's knobs instead of a mouse
