ghostif you know anything about keyboards you will know that a person cant produce a top quailty sound with a home product like the psr, dont get me wrong, ive recorded three complete albums that were produced on a psr, however,if you want to compete they wont work, as far as calling me a fool fuck you!! bitch!

no the 50 and 80 are different. the lay out is different, the sequencing is different, menu scrolling is different, the sounds are different. i can go on and on. the first keyboard i EVER made a beat on was an xp50 a couple of months later i purchased a 60.

they ARE different machines. you wont be able to manipulate all those filters and waveforms on the 50......on the 80 you can. plus you have more keys.

He prolly just starting out, can't expect to guy to start off with some top notch shit dawg.

PErsonally i'd say fuck all the expensive boards, i'd rather get a midi controller and the soundfonts for all those popular boards and save 800-1000$

but its your choice.

peace.

hersey the xp 50 is based on the 1080 sound engine/xp60-80 are based on the 2080 you can edit all the perameters its just not as easy as the 60/80
still, if someone only has $500 nothing comes close to the 50,you can spend $400 more for another four exp cards and have about
1600 sounds on hand for a total of $900,and the sounds are current, just look at any true production house no triton or trinity but a 1080,2080,3080 or 5080,nothing fucks with the roland sound engine

kev i own a 60 with four expansion cards. i have two external drum machines that i sync to it from time to time. the 50 doesnt even have the pr-c bank nor does it have the gm sounds.

i saw a 50 in the pawn shop today. $799. i also saw a yamaha es5. they wanted $1299

now back to the 50. i was never able to go inside of it and tweek it at the other studio. i didnt see ANY menus for the wave form selections, filter selectiosn or anything like that. when i tried to help my homeboy with his 50 i scrolled all through it. same thing.
