"Hearst upset the left-wing in America by being a pro-Nazi in the 1930s and a staunch anti-Communist in the 1940s."

all you gotta do is go to a university library get a card, at which point you can get some of the best books in the world. i mean over here at CSUS we can get books from the Berkeley (cough LIBERAL cough) and Standford libraries thru Stan State

ANYONE KNOW ?
Do you know which article in particular? If you can't find it by running his name & the subject on a search engine like google, you could try one of the many libraries at UC Berkeley, starting with the Undergraduate library Dwinelle then moving to any number of other specialized libraries for origional documents. The Hearst family has contributed much in Berkeley, including their daughter Patty to the Symbionese Liberation Army :) On the real, there's even a mansion that family gave as a rehab called "New Bridge" on the North side of campus...

You know Citizen Kane was supposedly based on Hearst, the publishing tycoon? The San Simeon mansion is like the one in the movie where Citizen Kane tried to buy material happiness while despairing over his own isoltaion from real community and love ... Course he was a perve who loved ... "Rosebud.." Don't want to blow the movie for you if you haven't already seen it.

My point of view is that he could have been a very crafty propagandist with the ability to tell any story about himself he wanted to. They say the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world, and who is raising children & shaping public opionion more than the media today?

Maybe the Hearsts are keeping a close eye on money still by sqeezing info out of ppl in rehabs so they can stay on top of the game with real info and not what they read in the papers.

Anyways...I am curious about what you're looking for.
