^^^^good luck, it's rough out there...

i just landed a job yesterday after months on the job search, not to mention I suffered a serious knee injury during the time so I couldn't even walk let alone go in on crutches and interview... I'm glad this fuckin job hunt is over... I'll be within walking distance of SBC Park, even though I'm an A's fan, I'll be making my way to a bunch of giants games...

Go to PG&E. I was on the job hunt for over a year now looking for something that had to do with my degree, and I couldnt find a damn thing that I could live off of independently. But I looked on the PG&E homepage and saw that they were hiring customer service reps starting at $21.19 an hour. No expierience necessary, they train you to handle the incoming phone calls. There is a series of pre-employment tests and interviews that took about a month to complete. Now Im just waiting for the letter in the mail which would tell me if Im hired or not. But PG&E has good pay and good benefits with hella room for an employee to advance. Plus, you get an employee discount on your PG&E bill. There is some serious bread rising in energy folks.

I'd rather do manual labor then, cuz I got too much pride in myself. I dont want to do something that has to change who I am just to get by. I'm stubborn like that.

and theres nothing wrong with that, just remember no matter where you are (unless youre the boss), its their rules not yours

PG&E pays hella because it's gov't regulated I believe, any public utility company is a natural monopoly just like PG&E, little or no competition. The gov't sets the prices so the utilities will be efficient for customers. If they had a choice they would raise prices for economic profit but the gov't don't want them to have an economic profit which is profit after all costs. They can lower their costs and become more efficient but the normal profit will still be there if they didn't lower costs, so they're like fuck it, we'll pay our employees high wages and keep the high costs by passing it on to customers...

yeah I got partner who make about the same for SMUD(SAC)...he works part-time but pulls in full time hours...however

I shouldn;t go here but my father, before he passed stressed over and over about spending ya time developing skillz and talentz that could be utilized for self employment and/or for ya own small business...he always asked, "would ya rather make 5k in a month or 30k bi-weekly...when ya see ordinary people who ain't into the music, clothes or just entertainment living its an eye opener, but ya have to be in the company of success to ascertain it...regardless of what I say get the job cause ya got to eat but don't let the system dictate your fate and put you to sleep thinking you doing good!

alot of folks ask me whats livin, livin is taken a 1 month vacation at the drop of a dime to visit ya folks and when ya month is up you decide to add a week to go fishin wit ya great uncle, thats livin...everything else is existing to serve anothers self-indulged purpose!

live free or die!
