For the first time ever in my life rap lyrics are starting to offend me..

That line in the Mobb Deep song on the radio that's something like, "if a little bit of blood gets on my daughter, it's nothing, she'll live" is fucked up! It's cool now to fight in front of your kids and if someone's blood gets on them it's no big deal??

And just yesterday that song about, "wanting the women who like to keep the dick up in them," I don't know. They bleep it out, but it's obvious as hell what they're saying. I see little kids singing that shit and it just doesn't seem right.

I grew up listening to Too $hort, but Blow Job Betty was never on the radio for elementary school kids to sing.

What are some signs you've felt that make you feel like you're getting old?

most nights I would rather stay at home and watch tv then go out.
I have started buying more non rap cds then rap ones.
I have absolutely no desire to see movies with rappers/singers anymore unless roger ebert says it is a good movie (or any movie for that matter unless he gives it a thumbs up).

thats all I can think of right now.

I know what you mean man I feel the same way. I think it's just a part of growing up. You can't listen to people talking about how many crimes they've committed on some mobbed out beat all day like when you were younger.

I can tell Im getting old when I catch myself saying "Wheres a cop when you need one?"

Plus, I hate everything that kids do... like between 12-17 years of age... kids are fucking stupid and I hate their mannerisms, but you know, I used to be a punk ass kid too.

Also, I want to sport a shirt I see at the store or something and Im like, Im too old to be wearing some bullshit like this. Im 25 years old and I still got a sag in the ass of my pants... am I too old for that shit?

Also, I be seeing hella people my age with houses and familys and carreers, meanwhile Im on moms couch.

Oh yeah, my hairline is receeding slowly but surely.

I used to buy virtually EVERY new hot Rap CD that came out, mainstream AND underground. I still fuck w/underground West Coast Rap CDs (and occasionally the South), but I'm leery about buying mainstreamy (MTV-played) stuff, whereas when I was younger I was less discriminating. I can't relate to, say, Ja Rule, The G-Unit, or Jay-Z the way I related to Death Row, early LA Rap, East Coast Rap circa 1988-1996, etc.

I don't go to bars as much as I used to--a lot of times, you're better off drinking at home; at least you'll already BE home if you drink too much.

Good looks alone on a woman aren't enough to get me going anymore. If a woman's good-looking, but has a shitty personality, I turn off (when I was a teen I didn't care as much).

I buy more Jazz, Blues and Soul CDs nowadays then I do Rock.

As far as TV, I watch cable more than I do network shows (I can't stand so-called "reality TV.").

A lot of times, I like reading more than I do watching TV (when I was younger, it was the reverse).

I can't tolerate obnoxiousness or loudness in people the way I used to, and find it annoying.

I get pissed off when I hear teenagers call everything that they don't like "gay" or "retarded", or when they use the word "so" out of context (i.e., "that's SO not cool!". "I'm SO not ready to do this!").

If you want me to be your homie nowadays, it's better if you don't have the attitude that everything has to be settled w/ a fistfight or name-calling session. I know now that you can't solve everything by beating someone up or calling people "faggots" or whatever...

I'm concerned w/ saving my money more now than I used to be.

I know that I may not end up getting a job that I "enjoy" and that I can't afford to take a phony moral highground by criticizing those who do what they must to survive (even if what they do is a little dishonest)...

PEACE!

funny you say this cause i just copped this shirt the other day and then my pops seen it and told me the same shit like dam boy you too old to wear some shit like that grow up....made me think for a sec then i was like nah man this shirts throwed....

and i also think nowadays the driving age should be 18....I know i wouldnt have said that shit when i was 16 but teenagers think they are some real big shit behind the wheel and are a danger to everyone on the road....theres already enough horrible drivers on the road these lil kids dont need to be cloggin it up with they unexperienced asses too....

I know I must be gettin older when I make my mom sit down and talk to me about buying a house.

My mom says it's sad that I'm so young and talk like I'm pushing 35.
