Or how about when they say the same thing about Digital Underground and the Humpty Dance? They had hits after that that got video and airplay, like Same Song, Whussup Wit The Love?, and Wind Me Up.

I got the Baby Got Back CD single. I love that song.

Yup. Mix's funnier and more important stuff (IMHO) was on his first two CDs, like the tracks that you already mentioned. And don't forget "The Peek-A-Boo Game," which I don't believe was a "hit", but it's one of the best "going to the strip club" songs I've heard! LOL!

BTW--VH1 said the same thing about Biz Markie, calling him a one-hit wonder ("Just A Friend"), even though he had success after that song with "Spring Again" and "What Comes Around Goes Around", and before '88 he hit with "Make The Music With Your Mouth", "Nobody Beats The Biz", "Pickin' Boogers," "Vapors", etc.

@AdolfOliverBush--Yup, I feel ya on DU, too. As much as I loved SEX PACKETS, there were so many undiscovered gems on their later CDs. I also remember "Oregano Flow" getting some video play on BET as well as the tracks you cited above. Nice song.
I was bumpin' WHO GOT THE GRAVY? the other day..."Peanut Hakeem", "The Odd Couple" and "Blind Mice" are some dope, funny songs, and "April Showers" would make Outkast proud!

PEACE!

How is that when the mainstream is nothing but hit songs? Maybe not in your eyes, but thats what the mainstream comprises of.
There are so many songs out there that are waaaay tighter than what the mainstream claims is a hit song. Most shit only becomes a hit because record companies put a shit load of money behind it in promotion.

A "hit song" is defined by the mainstream. It aint a "hit" until it succeeds in the mainstream. You might think a song is way tight, but that still doesn't define it as a hit song. Its just a tight song. Its just the wording, I know what your trying to say though.
