So what do you guys think of this entire ordeal?

I think Kendall is a cheater and has a rep for doing that (HBP on purpose). Not a blatant cheater like Donnelley and his pine tar (which is a little worse), but purposely sticking your elbow out over the plate in the past and doing it again today is some cheap ass sh. He didnt even need the walk.

Lackey was frustrated as is, and probably wouldnt have mouthed off if we weren't down.

Man, both our teams really need to clean up and start playing better baseball.

What Kendall does is part of the game. It's no different than pretending you made a tag when you missed it, pretending that you stepped on the bag when you missed it, etc. If you do it wrong, the ump will call you out on it (i.e. Joe Crede vs. A's in 2005.) The umpires aren't going to get 100% of the calls right, and if you can get a call in your favor, more power to you. This happens every day.

Pitcher's can't jaw at batters from the mound. Lackey will be suspended for starting it.

If you watch the replay, Kendall pulled his elbow away from the pitch. He didn't lean back completely, but he didn't need to. He did enough to get out of the way.

The bases were loaded, a walk would have been an RBI and a double play would have ended the inning. Anyone is going to take a walk in that situation.

Actually, Mathis tackled Kendall as Kendall was getting upper-cutted in the face :)
Not really, neither of them did shit, it looked like two fifth-graders on the playground.

The A's have won 5 straight... They outscored the Angels 11-3 and won 2 out of 2, they outscored the Royals 18-9 and won 2 out of 2 (Loaiza's game was rained out but he's on the DL now anyway where he should have been before that start,) and outscored the first place Rangers 14-12 while winning 2 out of 3... I'd say the A's are playing better baseball.

The funny thing is is even the Angels announcers understood what happened...Lackey initiated it, and said shit, and kendall didnt even look at him or make any eye contact...this has happened before with kendall and joe kennedy..its just part of the game....my guess is they'll both get a game suspension, which if that happens, jeremy brown, the dude in moneyball will get called up probably, which would be cool.

but yeah, in the words of lackey-"he came at me, and im cool with that." so lackey even understood.

Lackey was bein' a little bitch...Kendall didn't even look at the guy.

So yeah... you wanna talk shit...that's the way it goes. I don't think Kendall should have gone after him...but maybe he just felt like fighting.

Leaning in and "wearin' one for the team" is as old as baseball, that ain't cheating...but if you do that shit, you better be ready for the one in your ear hole the next time up.

I don't know if you've ever laced up a pair of cleats in your life, but you don't get suspended for verbally abusing a player during a game.Lackey can talk all the shit he wants,he's the one holding the ball.If only one guy was to be suspended,it would no doubt be Kendall.

If that was the case Lackey wouldn't have been ejected.

^^sensitive? i chalk charging the mound to part of the game more than runnin ur mouth...kendall didnt start it, i see it as a reaction...someones talkin shit, and kendalls been known for not takin it, so thats what happens.

whatever though, like i said, a game suspension each is pretty fair. the way i look at it, u can suspend kendall (whos more likely to get it for charging the mound) without suspending lackey)
