HERE'S SOME INFO I FOUND ON YOUR RIDE..
http://www.carsurvey.org/review
2000 Daewoo Lanos from North America
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Spark plug (s) constantly need to be replaced due to poor performance.
Defroster Cable has come unattached from the dial on the dashboard.
Windshield Washer Arm has a short in it to run the Washer Pump Motor.
Replaced a leaking gasket.
Cup holder is located in a very bad place near the radio.
Replaced the radio.
Had to replace a brake hose and could not find a dealership that had this $17.00 part. Ended up having a local hose and radiator company make us the brake hose for $80.00.
Has a clunking in the rear; possible bad strut (s).
General comments?
Bucket seats are uncomfortable.
Not a very smooth ride.

What things have gone wrong with the car?
Intermittent check engine light. Dealer said engine wiring harness was faulty. Replaced.
Lack of performance after wiring harness change, again intermittent check engine light. Dealer replaced spark plugs, problem solved.
Head gasket started leaking water at approx. 20,000 miles. Dealer replaced.
Car stalls for no apparent reason VERY rarely, but still happens. Annoying when it happens, but not dangerous so far, always happens when pulling away from a stop.
Rear window defrost grid half broken. Top half defrosts, lower half does not.
Vent controls for the heater/AC are screwed up. Defrost is completely inoperative, and certain settings allow heat to come out of vents that the switch is not set to.
Brake rotors *constantly* warping, replacement or resurfacing every 15,000 miles is "normal" with this car. Symptom is steering wheel shaking during braking.
General comments?
The above problems are what I personally would consider typical of a "cheap" new car. Most major faults occurred during the 3/36,000 warranty period, the "annoying" things, the front/rear defrost issues, have occurred after the warranty period. My personal belief is that the minor failures that have happened now are due to the low purchase price... build it as cheap as possible, to get through the 3/36 warranty.
Dealer service was excellent, to include free rental car for repairs that took more than one day.
No clock on the radio is bizarre to say the least. Never noticed how useful the car clocks are until I didn't have one.
In my opinion this is a "disposable" car, which should be traded/sold before the warranty is up. Offers good service for the price, but not reliable enough in the long run unless you have no plans to sell, and either feel like fixing it yourself, or putting up with the minor inconveniences.

What things have gone wrong with the car?
My brakes have been replaced three times.
The rotors have been replaced twice.
The thermostat housing hose needs to be replaced as well as the alternator.
Seats have started to wear badly.
I had to wait for two months for the brake pads to be shipped from over seas.
General comments?
Overall, the car gets you from point A to point B.

What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brakes have gone out.
Water leaks.
Getting 8 miles to the gallon.
Brakes squeal.
Service rude and slow.
Not provided with a rental car while repairs were made.
General comments?
This car is not worth the cheap price. The company will not stand by their product and it is a serious safety hazard. Brakes went bad at 1,000 miles!

What things have gone wrong with the car?
My air conditioning has broken 4 times.
My brakes have been replaced 3 times (along with the rotors).
The car won't keep an alignment.
Tires were bald at 8000 miles.
I had an oil leak at 9000 miles.
The rear defroster has broke.
Engine smells like something is going to catch fire.
The engine light came on at 9000 miles.
General comments?
This car was the biggest disappointment I have ever had. The car has spent more time in the service department than being driven. I can't wait until the paperwork for the lemon law is finished.

WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCC, BUT YOU MIGHT NEED TO SAVE SOME CHEESE FOR REPAIRS.
