Kind an odd question.

I see a lot of shows on it, and I hear some things now and then from someone I meet. Kind of wondering if it is a credible way of dealing with mental issues or bad memories. Like if you have something you want to forget about, or something that hurts you, you could forget about it?

Or I guess it's not that easy.

I don't know what I think yet, so I am reading about it. I am interested, but I don't have any personal experience with it.

Any thoughts?

The western approach to psychology is that the brain like any other organ in the body can heal itself on its own. The purpose of some hypnotherapy is to bring out the cause of psychological problems such as traumatic events leading into depression or anxiety or paranoia etc. etc.... in bringing out the "cause" it helps the person to recognize their problem so that their brain is aware of it and can take care of it instead of forgetting about it and having it always in the subconscious which brings out psychological problems. Hypnotism is a lot different then what most people think... it's not like you go into a trance or anything, read up on it, it's all about the power of suggestion.
