Why so much hyphy bashing now??? When MAC DRE was alive, folks on the siccness loved it to death. When E 40 dropped "TMWTG" the whole nation got wind of it. Now niggaz on here saying hyphy stupid, yada this yada that. My question is was hyphy/thizzing a MAC DRE thang or is yall mad cuz some bay rappers drop the ball and let it fizzle? Holla back.

POP hyphy alot of the time is bullshit.

i'd say only about 25% of pop hyphy slaps, an those hits are by well known bay artists, not these out the woodwork acts.

it was funny, after the mac passed everyone was on hyphy, now everyone denies that shit. funny style, an thats why the bay wont blow

for real! being that basically everyone is running with mac dre's style, i wonder how it would be if he was still alive? you know half the rappers that are on this "hyphy" shit wouldnt be. i wonder how the mac would have kept it fresh because no one else is

keak still doin the hyphy thing but his shit is good. most of the hyphy shmucks music aint quality. the lyrics are the same and the beats are annoying with whistles, lasers, and sirens

the way i remember it, a lot of people were complaining about mac dre straying farther and farther away from the mob sound on his last couple albums...i don't even remember a lot of the folks jumping on the hyphy bandwagon until after he passed.

since then, that shit has got PLAYED OUT...i don't mind the hyphy beats that much, it's the one-dimensional repetitive ass lyrics you hear on EVERY FUCKING SONG...shit got boring as hell, the bay got more talent than to ride a gimmick into the ground...

^^^ u right about the played out part. especially the lyrics.

but mac dre wasnt on the hyphy shit like it is now... his shit was more fun and more party type shit, but he always had mob style songs and always had a variety.

comparing thizz dance to some hyphy shit now... makes thizz dance sound hard/mob

i deff dont see lifes a bitch as hyphy, that shit was classic. hella game in those lyrics with a story

the wylin out hyphy sound has a lot to do with keak the hyphy pioneer

fab played a part too with all his silly dumb bus rider shaboopalaboopty antics

dre called himself hyphy on some of the most laidback beats. i cant think of them right now but there's a couple tracks that got some slow as beats that hyphy as fuck. i always was associating hyphy with on some real shit. hood shit. block shit. be it speaking on some life an death shit or just going to a function an picking up a chick an all in between. it was after dre passed that people gave hyphy a set style. fuck that shit. all this mob music is better then hyphy, mob is hyphy an hyphy was mob!

U niggas are some bandwagon bitches on the real. What I love about Bay Area music is that we do what we do, and dont care what everybody else thinks. Bay fans need to support our artists, and stop worrying about the rest of the game.

ur right about how he used it, but hyphy did turn into its own style/genre/sound... which is what the op was talking about

i'm not gonna support wack ass shit. nothin to do with bandwagon, it has to do with quality.
