THIZZ & HYPHY!!

I feel like this needs to be clarified. Because there are too many heads thinking that they are one in the same. I hear one cat saying it's this and not that.

Real talk... first time I heard hyphy was on the compilation THREE CEE'S
Hyphe Like - Mac Dre, Dubee, Feeb
Basically it's boss status on this track to be hyphe not a damn thing is said about riding the yellow bus.

Then you have The Feds putting their 2 cents on it and it's going dumb and retarded...

Then along comes Keak Da Sneak stating Hyphy is short for Hyperactive, saying his mama use to call him that. So everyone associates going 18 dummy with Hyphy.

Then thizzle dance makes another come back after Mac Dre dies and the Bay is "HYPHY" but with the twist of everyone is on one? Now everything that's put out is labeled hyphy.

Please everyone put some thought into this before posting up, I don't want no nonsense...

I think MD just spit what he did, but everyone outside of the bay did misunderstood what he was spittin about. They figured because MD popped pills and was always rappin about hyphy, they just started associating the two with eachother. I do not think that MD flipped the script, i think that the rest of the nation misunderstood what he was talking about, and assumed that you had to pop pills to be hyphy. as for people in the bay that associate hyphy with popping pills, i have no explanation for that one. but i don't know, i could be wrong, just my take on the whole situation.

to me thizz music is different than hyphy music for example:

hyphy songs: fast like a nascar, tell mw when to go, super hyphy

thizz music: not my job, cuttin it up, thizz dance, all i wanna do

just my opinion

Well maybe when FAB was on My Block doing his interview with Sway.He could have said somthing else about Thizzin and kept his yellow bus riding shit to the side.Its like people are scared to say what thizz really is...Fuck what everybody thinks it is now they need to know where it came from..I dont think DRE would have wanted all that yellow bus shit..Ya its cool but most people outside the bay wont take it seriousley...The shit is dumbed down so much fools think it a joke..Hyphy to me is just a cali thing..Thizz is DRE and the Crest pop'n and get'n it pop'n.. Thizz will be around for years after hyphy...

hyphy i think is our music tag for the bay area. for rap music at least. like crunk is for south. no matter wut comes out on mainstream it will b hyphy if its from the bay. thizz iz just a camp, n they get ppl that go "hyphy" to throw up T'z n yell out thizz or die, n thats how they got "thizzin" as a genre. thats wut i think thizzin iz, hyphy folx reppin furl. . .i forgot wut track it was but i remember FAB sed sumthin bout thizzin aint juss poppin pillz its havin funn goin dum. . . or sumthin like that.

Hyphy music and thizz music is damn ner the same shit..i didnt even know there was a genre called thizz or hyphy...but it put the bay back on the map nation wide...and there is no comparison to hyphy music and mob music...2 totally different things...when people say hyphy they automatically think of the bay...but dont ever think its only that out here...the bay is prolly the most diverse place in the world...u cant juss label us as one thing...

Aright im about to put it in square terms..

Hyphy = High energy, hyper active, highly reactionary.
Keak coined the phrase, well as far as anyone knows. Its used to described anything that is high energy..like being too excited, dancing out of control and shit like that. So by defaniton hyphy music would be high energy music, even tho people have made songs about hyphy that arent high energy..including keak.


Thizzin' = Means your on X.
Since exctasy was coined as thizz pills by mac dre or sumone close to him, wen ur on them ur thizzin! I don't think there really is a way to classify "thizz music" but i'd consider it any music that makes alot more sense wen u listen to it thizzin..for example Mac Dre's Feelin myself.

regardless of how other people consider bay music there is a lot of bay music that def. isnt hyphy sounding. like that new J. Davinci. that shit is not hyphy at all, its just quality rap.
