I do save up for my retirement. But usually i run into a situation (like the present of trying to find new residences) and have to spend a lot of it. I save a lot of cash at a place thats secret and not where i live. Most of it tho is in the bank. I got stocks but dont rely on them, i mainly buy stock to fuck around and see how i do.

When i get out of school and pay off my loans, ill be set. I plan on saving much moo-lah. All i ever spend money on is food, gym memberships, cars and parts. So im pretty solid.

"Whats in your wallet?!"

You can never go wrong with Real Estate. As for stocks and bonds, if you got the capitol invest it yourself or start your own business. This way you dont got anyone else to blame if it craps out. The recent events should be a sign to folks, watch your money closely.

you had WCOM too Naptown? I didn't ride it that far down though. I was in at an average of $1.70. I figure as long as they don't go to chapter 7 or do a debt for equity swap maybe in 2-3 years I might actually get my money back....we'll see....no use in selling at this point. But it's no big deal...I knew they were the most aggressive part of my portfolio anyway. But yea for retirement I got a Roth IRA going too.

at 8 cents a share swoop some of this, at least 5 gs if you got it to blow, think about it, its just bankruptcy to restructure their debt. theyre not writing it off. this company PRETTY MUCH IS 1/3 OF THE ENTIRE INTERNET. it isnt going anywhere. if so, it will just be transferred somewhere else

Yea but remember there is still risk, even at this low price. During the restructuring they could make a new issue of the stock...effectivly making the current issue worthless (this hasn't happened with ENRON or KMART but it is a possibility). Or if this restructuring fails they could file chapter 7. But I know it is very tempting and I am tempted to buy more and bring my cost basis down.
