how many songs can an artist leak b4 hurtin album anticipation?

Just thinkin about Clyde and obviously The Federation.
How can an artist maintain CD anticipication and buzz if they release their hit tracks months b4 their CD drops. Obviously the internet allows folks to download n make mix-CD's and ipod playlists, so most of the time songs r already played out by the time of the album release (and most of the time they happen to be the slap-tracks on the CD).

Or how many mix-tapes r too many b4 mf's get tired of hearin someone, without droppin their "real" CD (that have a lot of recycled verses from their "mixtapes")???

they are... their making a second video to "get naked you beezy" i think it should only be one song and one video o and one mixtape before they drop

1 street single and 1 more mainstream type of single is the most that should be released before an album drops. Only one song total is better though...

I would say this route seems the most successfull......

1- make an appearance on someone with a names mixtape/CD
2- drop an official street single featuring a big name artist
3- drop a mixtape hosted by a big DJ/Artist
4- drop an official commercial single w/ video
5- drop a DJFresh style original mixtape prealbum
6- drop the album

i think artists should hype a track 1 week before they leak it, leak the song 1 month before an album comes out, drop the album

All songs released up to this point except 'get Naked You Beezy' are street releases and will not be on the album. Everyone seems to think the album has already been leaked. Um..no. All material up to this point are street singles to keep the buzz. Look for the first official single and video "Get Naked you Beezy" due out soon from the upcoming album "It's Whateva" due out in April 07'!!!
