I know there are so many artists and music people in here. Do any of yall actually making a living off of just music only or do some of yall actually have 9 to 5's and do music on the side.

I Rocc N A Few Others Are Eatin.. And U Know Which Ones Is Eatin Cause They Out There.. But In All Reality Most Rappers Out Here Aint Eatin At All Period.. Thats Why We Grindin In These Streets Like U Hear Us Rappin About... Niggas In And Out The Pen.. We Starvin Out Here In San Diego.. And U Already Know Dago Is Not Doin It Like That.. Or We Woulda Been On MTV & BET.. The Success Stories Wouldve Been There... All We Got To Our Rap History Is A Whole Lot Of Oppurtunity And No Success.. Unless We Talkin On Some Illegal Bidness Goin Down, But Then Again That Aint Gotta Do Wit They Rap, Thats Some Ol Federal Shit...

i really dont think there's anything wrong with workin a 9-5. Its ok for music to be a hobby. Thats just me though. I know alot of people in the military that rap and still make cd's. Mystikal and Shaggy were in the military when they got signed. I'm sure many mc's had 9-5's before they blew up.

i think a big problem with the general attitude in hip hop is that if you don't have 5 cars and live in a 10 bedroom house and wipe your ass with 20 dollar bills then you aint doing shit. me personally, i might not be ballin outta control but at least music has allowed me and my wifey to live comfortably and i dont have to report to a job i hate everyday...man i done it all i worked at Souplantation, i worked for the city, i worked in special education for 4 years and i'm not tryna go back to any of that.

not 2 get too political on yall,but i think its fucked up that you could work a 9 to 5, 40 hour week and still not have enough to live on your own, that just goes to show how unbalanced our economy is. i was never tryna follow that path thats why i got real serious about this music thing and now i know...you DON'T have to be famous to make some decent money off it, just build your loyal fanbase, get that cult following lol...

as real as it gets. everything he said is what we all tryin to do when you get down to it.. skip the 9 to 5, live comfortably and get paid off of expressing yourself.
