So yeah......anywayz.

This is an excerpt from an upcoming interview that I did for SouthwestConnection.com that answers this question.

Lets get into the new roster, you got a lot of young hungry cats now Dividenz, Skunt, Lac of Respect, Sarkastik, Young Vicious, & Crytical. How did you come across finding all these heavy hitters?

Let's see...Sarkastik has been in the picture for a minute. He started workin' with SLR in 2000 on the I.K. album and eventually just became apart of the family. He was unhappy with his record label at the time and I was more than happy to start working with him.

Skuntdunanna (aka Mafia) I've been knowing since 1990. Me and Skunt used to kick it as teenagers and I was actually the first person to ever record him back in 1991. Skunt's one of my best friends, he's as real as they come.

I met Dividenz a couple times over the past few years, but I never really had a chance to hear what they were about until I ran into them at a party one night. They approached me and expressed some interest in doin' some tracks together. I was like "yeah OK" because I hear that all time, if it happend cool, if not then oh well...ya know? But a little while later somebody got a freestyle session goin' and Notes & COLA were up in the middle of it bustin' some hot shit. I remember Notes in particular spittin' some heat and thinkin' to myself "this has got to be written", but it wasn't. After that, I made sure that we hooked up and did some work together.

Crytical is friends with Byrdie and started out being his hype-man at shows. Eventually Byrdie helped Crytical get his foot in the door and the next thing you know we're bangin' out a whole album. He's a real good dude, a hard worker and has been a tremendous asset to SLR. You'll see what I mean when his debut album "Crytical Condition" drops.

Young Vicious (Y.V.) was actually a high school kid from my message board on the Siccness.net website. Y.V. befriended a partner of mine and it turned out that he was an aspiring lyricist. My boy kept tellin' me that I needed to hear this kid, but I blew it off for awhile because of all the turmoil that SLR was goin' through at the time. Eventually though I had a chance to hear some shit he had recorded and he wasn't bad at all, especially considering the fact that he was only 16-17 years old. I'm pretty good at spottin' talent and so far I haven't been disappointed. He works real hard on his music, he gets out to promote & sell CD's, he graduated from high school and just left for college. He's a real good kid with a good head on his shoulders and I know he will be another outstanding addition to SLR down the road. We're about halfway through his album "The Burn Ward," but production is on hold until he comes back into town whenever he gets a chance.

The Lac of Respect click is a super group consisting of Skunt, Twin G (Skunt's twin brother), 151 (from West Coast Mafia Records) & the homie A-Train. Their album "GAME MEMBERS" is just wrapping up as we speak and should be out around the beginning of 2004. The shit is hot, that's all I can say.

Good shit D-sane. I always wondered how you all came together. I never knew that Crytical was one of Byrdie's friends. How come Crytical didn't spit flames on Poetic Epidemic??????

They knew each other from the old school.....but didn't see each other for a long time. I think by the time they ran into each other again Byrdie had already finished most of his album and had it all plotted out. Byrdie was actually supposed to do a song called "Open Fire" that was gonna feature Crytical......but Byrdie is such a drag artist.....Crytical ended up doin' all 3 verses by himself and that became his first complete song. From there we said fuck it and started workin' on his album.
