How do you eliminate teh possibility of loosing a reply?

I just had a HUGE reply to 916, and because I accidently hit the back key I lost my reply to him (which took me over an hour to prepare.) Does anyone know of a way (besides opening wordpad or word 2000) that can help eliminate this? All I did was press the back button and POOF a long reply down the crapper.

Ive had that happen to me a few times, usually when replying to you.

I just periodically copy mine to the clipboard if they're long. I also use FF and haven't had replies deleted when hitting back on here.

That shit has happened a few times to me, from now on if im typing a long amount of shit I highlight it all and hit copy twice on my right click that way i can jus paste it if shit goes haywire.

well, yes, hitting forward should get it back because the text is still cached in the memory.
but what i usually do for long replies is just type it out on notepad and then copy n paste it to here.

^^yep, this is what I have learned to do. Whenever I'm about to have a long reply, I copy & paste the quotes into Word and go from there.

I usually just highlight the text every now and again and copy it, I can't be bothered using word or notepad to write them.

this forum need to be updated with some new technology, with a bit of AJAX programming so that replies get saved every 5 secs, gmail does this, and i believe a few of the newer forums.
