How Do You Choose Mirror Courses For Mario Kart When Playing Online?

I was playing online last night and someone chose a Mirror version of the course. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do that? Even though I've beaten Mirror mode, it still fucked me up because I always thought they were just the standard courses when playing online.

u have to have unlocked the mirror mode in order to choose it as one of the levels.

I've already done that. It's weird, I voted for a course like I normally do, and my course was chosen and it was the mirror version. I know I didn't do it purposely, so maybe the internet did it for me.

I also just picked up an extra wheel today so my wife and I can both play with wheels. And it wasn't one of those cheap rip-off W-ii wheels.
